Yes, perhaps "finished" was the wrong word. But it would be a shame if box office was the final arbiter in what direction Bond should go.

I agree. The suspense element (in the classic Hitchcock sense) has been rarely used since Dalton's day. The Casino Royale trailer gave the impression that the film would be suspenseful, but when I saw it, it wasn't.

to me the marked sign of Bond evolving was the use of the words 'second bedroom'.

I think people wanting it to go back to pre craig era type films are not going to see that happen times and eras have moved on

Must admit I'm totally baffled at what this refers to or what it means... anyone?

Some references in this thread to the Skyfall scene when Bond says to Silva 'What makes you think this is my first time?'. Bond says it because it's not his first time. In Quantum of Solace, he takes a man up on to a roof and tosses him off.

😂 Haha! And he'd done it before in TSWLM: can't get enough!

@Barbel jokes about how long a break there is between current Bond films but I think we have an impasse a bit like when Bruce Willis and Mel were all the rage and Bond just seemed irrelevant, being British, in a suit and in somewhat far-fetched, globe-trotting adventures compared to blue-collar workers where the action is confined to one tower block, bus or city. Fortunately, the films had a reason to be offscreen for a few years then.

Now, the whole woke thing is such that until that settles down I'm not totally sure what Bond can be. Younger, for a start I guess - folk are quite liberated these days but it's not the same as before. It shouldn't be that complicated but the whole thing does feel either stuck in the past or apologising for the past. I do feel any guy over 40 having that lifestyle might be seen as a bit odd. It's okay in your 20s but then you're not really the experienced secret agent or man of the world at that age, you're still the kid learning.

"This is where we leave you Mr Bond."

Three accounts all registered at the same time with the same IP address…could be an error on their part, or not 🤔…I removed them…
