What are the best movies released this year you're seen?
Here are mine:
- Belfast. Ken Branagh's masterpiece about growing up in the titular city at the start of the Troubles.
- Top Gun: Maverick. Tom does what he does best.
- No time to die. A controversial, but very well made movie.
- The worst person in the world. An excellent "rim-com" for people who don't watch rom-coms. Won at Cannes and an Oscar finalist.
- See how they run. If you loved Knives Out you'll love this one too!
- The Batman. A darker, more down-to-earth Batman.

I don't think I've even seen 10 films at the cinema this year - unless you include the Bond movies at London's Prince Charles! I caught Thunderball, OHMSS, Moonraker, FYEO, OP, AVTAK but that's it.
My local doesn't quite persuade you to go along, it doesn't promote itself very well. I still avoid packed cinemas. I did enjoy Maverick: Top Gun a heck of a lot when I saw it. I wish my local did occasional re-runs or reissues. I expect I will see Bill Nighy's Living and the Irish one with Colin Farrell but I don't feel any urgency. I didn't catch the first Black Panther and it's never seemingly be reissued in the interim so I doubt I'll see the new one.

Yes. We're talking of movies released this year. It doesn't matter where and how you saw it.
