Winner of the most "deceitful" Le Cercle plaque auction (so far)................
Goes to "Gotta have rock and roll" for their ridiculous auction due to finish in 6 days. Lot no. 1118.
"These film prop casino plaques were used by Sean Connery in his role as James Bond, Agent 007, in the 1962 hit film "Dr. No." One £5 casino plaque, and one £10 casino plaque; both from the "Le Cercle" casino. It is in "Dr. No" that Connery says the iconic line: "Bond, James Bond" line for the first time., and the scene in which it takes place is the one filmed in the "Le Cercle" casino. The casino was established in 1961 (a year before the filming of "Dr. No") at the private gentleman's club Les Ambassadeurs Club in London. Accompanied by two photographs of Sean Connery as Agent 007 in the famed casino scene. Very good condition. Comes with a Gotta Have Rock & Roll Certificate of Authenticity."
They have been informed that the bold parts are totally untrue but they obviously prefer trying to con any poor, unsuspecting bidders rather than actually stating the correct facts or doing any research whatsoever as I have had no reply. I wouldn't have thought it would be good for their reputation either but I doubt that bothers them either. Their description is shown above so if anybody (who has bought from me) gets a moment (and are bored) then please feel free to contact them to point out their errors. Maybe that would convince them as they don't seem to want to listen to me. My bold emphasis, obviously. Thanks.
I will remove this if they do the decent thing and either take it off or actually amend the auction to tell the truth but they deserve a name check for this, in my opinion.
