Bit ropey this piece, once you hit all the Reject buttons on the Cookies. First two paragraphs make a point about how the series isn't consistent, changing lead actors every two years - eh? All it's about is how they call MI6 MI7 in Dr No. That's about it.

At the end of it there's a story about how Danny Boyle's mooted Bond would have taken 007 back to space for the final reel which is interesting but thin on detail.

"This is where we leave you Mr Bond."

Sorry, I posted the wrong html for that link. Here is the right one:

I agree with the part about the Bofeld character reboot:

"Following copyright problems surrounding the franchise, MGM eventually acquired the full copyright to the characters and concepts of Blofeld and SPECTRE on 15th November 2013, which paved the way for the next prospective Bond project. For this, there needed to be a hook, that of the Spectre Blofeld twist. This hook was not only bringing Blofeld back, but having him be James Bond’s long-lost adoptive brother - a creative move so foolish Austin Powers could reportedly be heard laughing in the distance.

The 'Brofeld' twist is an unforgivable mistake in the Daniel Craig movie series, given how incongruent it is with the established relationship Bond has always had with his arch-nemesis. Previously, Blofeld was intimidating, powerful, and deadly. Although Christoph Waltz does manage to impart these traits into his respectable performance, the script depicts Spectre’s Blofeld more as a begrudging, somewhat impish, increasingly annoying foe Bond ultimately captures too easily.

This James Bond Blofeld mistake is by far the biggest in the franchise, even though Spectre stands as the second highest-grossing box office entry in the series. No Time to Die improved upon Spectre critically, however, with an 83% Rotten Tomatoes rating in contrast to Spectre’s 63%. No Time to Die, therefore, redeemed the franchise from Spectre’s mishaps, surviving a mistake James Bond could have died from one film too early."
