That's a pity... I'd have been up for NSNA big screen.

Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

FYEO is on today (Friday) but it's on the upstairs (smaller) screen. Not in 4K either, not sure how that works, do they only have the facilities downstairs for it, or do they have a different print?

In case any of you would be interested, there's a new doc about Roger Moore showing at Picturehouse Cinemas and Everyman Cinemas in December (15th across both Picturehouse & Everyman, and some extra showings at Everyman on 18th December.

More info about the film and full info on screening locations/times is here:

Also I have a £10 ticket code for Picturehouse screenings which I'm happy to share if you'd like it!

I’ve been pestering the Prince Charles Cinema to run the Bond marathon again in 2025. Would be nice for them to show the films in order over the course of the year like they did this year. Has anyone else reached out to them about this? Strength in numbers no?

I was at the final screening of this season today, to see NTTD - the only time I've been back since MR. It was in the downstairs cinema and was reasonably full, with an audience entirely respectful of the movie. (I think there's a bonus Boxing Day screening of OHMSS, too, for anyone stray in the West End next week.)

NTTD will age well, I think. The plot is pure hokum, and the dialogue often stilted, but it does the job of delivering dramatic situations which are well performed and much striking, cinematic imagery. The film has a skilfully delineated melancholy tone, as if the business of Bondian fantasy had human consequences in Bond's own world.

We really need a new Bond film now, that's also a big success - just so we'll be able to say that the most recent one *isn't* the one in which Bond died. If anything, it will enhance the aftertaste of NTTD, improving its flavour as an aromatic vintage, when it's finally overtaken by a new Bond live and kicking, assuming the successor (whenever we get it) is a fine wine too.

Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Glad you enjoyed it, Shady. Nothing on the Prince Charles website about a showing of OHMSS, Boxing Day or otherwise. They have to fit in yet another showing of In The Mood For Love, of course.

Odd. I swear at some point I saw it scheduled, but perhaps it's since been removed.
