We’re back to the Hammer film adaptions now…Vampire Circus (1972) Part One:

Script by Steve Parkhouse drawn superlatively by Brian Bolland.

    Part Two tomorrow…

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

I think this story works better as a comic strip than it did as a movie.

    CASINO ROYALE Chapter Ten:

    To be continued…

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Damn, now I have to wait until next weekend to continue this very enjoyable adaptation. Did I spy John Cleese in the background of the scene starting "Neither the game..."?

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

Yes, it does look similar 😁 good spot @Barbel

And thanks for your appreciation of the thread 👍🏻

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

    Van Helsing’s Terror Tales #14

Script by Steve Parkhouse with a new artist for the series, Sergio Goudenzi, who captures Peter Cushing’s likeness nicely.

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

    Great fun story.

Dammit, I know exactly "what [is] to come" and yet I can't wait for the next instalment!

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

And here it is @Barbel though you will have to wait until next Saturday for the next chapter 😁

I’m also enjoying this Casino Royale comic strip…and that definitely was John Cleese earlier 🤣🍸

    Van Helsing’s Terror Tales #15

Unfortunately a poor script and poor artwork mark this fifteenth entry in the series…

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

A change of pace for this next entry…a MAD look at the Bond movies…

I like this - certainly funnier than CR67.

art by Mort Drucker, who also drew this caricature of Ian Fleming

I once found links to a bunch of MAD magazine James Bond parodies, mostly drawrn by Drucker, which I posted over here in the Spoofs thread

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

Oh, I didn’t realise these had already been posted, thanks for posting the link, I won’t need to post the others that I had lined up. But I have several non-Bond spoofs to post which are popular here, such as Where Eagles Dare!

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

aw, you might as well post the remaining MAD parodies CoolHand, if you dont mind, I didnt mean to stop you

my old post was a link to somebodys blog, and its so much work to click on a link I know many just dont bother. I'm sure more people will actually read the parodies if you paste them directly into your thread

  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,068Chief of Staff

    Yes, please do!

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

Then, I will begin in a few days time, because this weekend sees the next two chapters of…

    CASINO ROYALE Chapter Fourteen:

    To be continued…

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

    CASINO ROYALE Chapter Fifteen:

The next chapter will be posted next weekend…

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,068Chief of Staff

    Roll on next weekend!

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

Van Helsing’s Terror Tales #16 - Script and artwork by Steve Parkhouse.

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 38,068Chief of Staff

Am I mistaken or are the central pages the wrong way round?

Not one of the better stories in this series.

  • CoolHandBondCoolHandBond Mactan IslandPosts: 7,370MI6 Agent

I was wondering if anyone would notice! It’s taken directly from the magazine so it’s an actual misprint - someone wasn’t doing their job properly.

As you say, not one of the better stories. Strangely, my favourite of the whole series will be posted next week.

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
