I'm excited for another remastered score, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't have any previously unreleased music. Do we know if the other music is lost?

We'll have to continue to rely on @mattjoes wonderful reconstructions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0mwD4rbE-O8

I believe it is, sadly. Yes, his reconstructed cues are excellent.

Just ordered a copy of this today, really looking forward to it. I was quite impressed with the remastered TND soundtrack that La La Land records put out a few years ago. Hope that more James Bond movies will get new soundtrack releases in the near future.

It took me this long to acquire the above 60th edition of the GF soundtrack. Why, is a long story which I’ll condense. I bought a vinyl copy in approx. 1970, then a CD in maybe 1990, then the remastered CD in 2003. Did I need another version? I hemmed and hawed then eventually went ahead and bought it. It arrived this morning.

It sounds wonderful, much better than any previous version. Subtleties in the orchestra (yes, I know this isn’t a subtle score but they are there) come to the fore in an exciting new way. The individual instruments can be heard more distinctly than the earlier wall of sound effect allowed them to be. The exception seems to be the instrumental version of the main theme (this isn’t in the film; long story) which isn’t as clear as the other tracks. The vocal tracks shimmer as never before, making it an aural pleasure for anyone crazy enough to spend their time comparing the two different versions of Shirley Bassey belting out the title song. Repeatedly.

The sad part is the lack of any new music (the bonus tracks have all been available on other releases though it’s nice to have them gathered here with the main score) which is apparently an insoluble problem. Reconstructions can be found, some excellent, but there’s nothing like original John Barry.

    I'm on my second listen,

    I love this new remaster.

There's more detail and separation, yes it's a shame there's no new unreleased material.

But I think it's definitely worth getting for simply how good it sounds.

I ordered mine a few days ago, and I just got a notice that it will arrive in "1-9 days." This is like the home repair people who say they will be there between "9 a.m. and 6 p.m."...

Mine's out for delivery - together with the releases of OP and TND from the same source. Can't wait to give them a listen.

Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.

Very pleased with these. Sounding very good.

With GF, the Anthony Newley vocal for the title track is unnervingly self-indulgent (I have a Harry Saltzman-type reaction to that one!) but it's great to have the variant Shirley Bassey GF performances in one place and all the album tracks arranged in film order.

I'm pleased as well; while there's nothing "new," it's very complete and fun to hear the tunes in order. Also, the extensive liner notes are a good read.
