Apparently there's at least a box full of Tom Hiddlestons left though.

If they have an Idris Elba I'd get one. :))

Very nice collection! It's always great to have an insight into how these clothes, books, memorabilia etc are presented inside a collectors home.

Look how neat and organised that is! I could browse for hours....
    Agreed.

Thought this was Acacia_Avenue's sticky thread originally under Collecting and Clothing? however a while back a heated debate was sparked where a member named Mr Mick was convinced he owned a first generation Walther P99 which had a flat front edge to the trigger guard which made it a third generation which he did not want to accept even after I had posted images of Pierce Brosnan's second generation pistol (SN:V1680) which he had used on Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day and Daniel Craig had used on Tomb Raider. At the time I explained that the first generation was almost identical in appearance to the Umarex PAK (blank fire) Walther P99. It's taken a few years but I've finally sourced a pre-Bond first generation 9mm Walther P99 (SN: V1635), 45 units off the production line before Brosnan's piece.

Sorry for the confusion about the location of this thread…I tried to to move most posts after the upgrade but gave up by about page 23 🤗

Just went to the website and apparently there are some copies of the book still available. The site does say they are not perfect condition ones, they are ones found whilst doing an inventory check. Probably the very very last chance to get yourself a copy

And at the amazing price of £14.99 plus postage is a real bargain, I have seen copies change hands for £60 or more on Ebay.

According to the website what is left are damaged copies, damage to the cover/spine but no damage inside. I therefore think it would be very difficult for them to sell these damaged copies close to original selling price but with that said, it's still a very good deal considering what your are getting. I've just purchased one that has the Sean Connery cover, total price being £17.99 (P&P). Hopefully the cover and spine will not be too badly damaged. I wasn't looking for a perfect condition one, I just want it for the content. I know many others would want a perfect condition one for a collection piece and therefore even with the bargain price will not even give it some thought.

I am sure a number of people will purchase at this bargain price and immediately put them on ebay with an over inflated price tag on it.

Wow, got the email that these were again available and I snagged one…or at least completed the purchase and I will celebrate again when the mailman delivers it. I too was late when I first found out about this edition and was remorseful so I’m happy now.

@Dodge101 Cheers for bringing this to attention, I'm another who missed out on this book and hoped that it would circulate again. Purchase made.

Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Glad you was able to finally get a copy.

My parents never brought me up to take advantage of others which is why i know I would never be a good business person. So when I saw there were copies available on the website I knew it was important to let fellow Bond fans know rather than keep it too myself to take advantage of.

I notice all the Daniel Craig covers are sold out. The website at one point did say that these copies will never be printed again so once they are gone, they are gone for good.

It does make me wonder what level of damage the copies are in because the company could be thinking that some covers are way too damaged and thus refuse to sell them but end up throwing away. If the content pages are undamaged and only the covers/spines are damaged I feel the company should remove the damaged cover/spine and replace it with a blank replaceable because to me it would be a crime to throw away copies that have near perfect internals and just a badly damaged cover/spine. Not everyone wants a perfect copy, I am sure some just want it for it's content.

Out of interest, has anyone received their copy from 007 Magazine yet? I’d be interested to hear about the level of damage.

I bought one of the Goldfinger magazines, which were also supposed to be less than perfect, but not received mine to date.

Thanks Dodge101. With the Connery tribute edition I know there was a long wait to get these published, but my understanding is that these were found, damaged copies of older editions, so started to worry mine had got lost in the post.

I’ll give it another week and if I don’t hear anything will email Graham.

Well no sooner did I post…

Just received my Goldfinger Part 3 magazine.

Absolutely zero damage whatsoever (despite an obvious attempt from Royal Mail bending the envelope) not sure why it was reduced frankly! Bargain!

Anyone got a spare number 2 up for sale?

I cannot recommend this highly enough. It's a crying shame that a coffee table book with glorious glossy photos hasn't been made of it, it is that good. Congratulations to everyone who was able to pick up one of these last few copies.

Dear all. I'm very glad that those who have picked up copies of Famous Gun second time around are enjoying it, especially the "great read" comment as the writing is one of the things it was originally criticized for: "Mark Hazard is no Leslie Charteris!" no he most definitely is not!

As for a hard backed coffee table style edition, with the franchise's 60th anniversary almost upon us and a significant number of additional weapons being tracked down over the years since the publication first went to print, not to mention the weapons inventory from the new movie ..... perhaps watch this space! 🙈

A taster of things to come in 2022?

That would be brilliant. It is absolutely worthy of the full royal treatment. I stand by, locked and loaded...
