Has anyone else found the size and fit of N. Peal to be rather odd? (I will say they have top-notch customer service though)
I'm 5'10-11 and most items off the rack in most brands fit me just fine...but in N. Peal cashmere I found the body to be a little billowed, the front was a little loose, the back a little snug, the shoulders a little wide and the arms were way too tight and the biggest issue for me
the arms were way (too short). Anytime I raised my arm the cuff would retract above my wrist. (Don't like that)
For $410, I was not impressed at all. I will say the material felt amazing though, light and soft.
Have they changed the length or fit at all over many seasons since Spectre, or is this still just how they are?
N.Peal sizing varies a lot between styles. For example, I wear size XS in the Oxford crew neck sweater for a regular-to-slim fit. I wear size S in four other styles and finally size M in the Spectre mock turtleneck, where the sleeves are also exactly the right length and no longer.
If it helps, they are night and day better tat assisting with as detailed of any sizing question that you’d need or request. They always seem very eager and more than willing to help with specific measurements that usually arent as regularly available. Sometimes being in between sizes can be tough though. I definitely fall in that same boat.
The quality; touch; feel of their sweaters/tops etc is exceptional - but their fit is all over the place. I was fortunate enough to visit the N Peal London store when I wanted to buy the fumo grey roll neck. And it’s a good job I did as it took the poor women about 5 trips downstairs to try to find a size that fit me - and I’m far from being a ‘strange’ size: 40” chest; 32” waist; 6”2; slightly long arms. But she was bringing up Meds and Larges but there seemed to be a huge disparity even between the same sizes. Arms were regularly too short. I know they do a special service for longer arms but given the differences in the body sizes, I’m not confident that would be much help.
Given ‘one thing and another’, I wasn’t able to get to the store when I wanted to get the mock turtle neck from the bridge finale. I ordered a couple of the same size as well as Med and Large. All of them went back :-(
Orlebar Brown just launched a private sale with 50% off...plenty of Bond stuff on sale as well...moonraker half zip, octopussy harrington, FYEO v neck etc etc.
