Thanks for your info on this . From an earlier post is it the case that the logo on the back strap was covered up with a sharpie rather than “ picked “ off cheers
I just knocked my laptop on the floor by accident and you'll never guess what happened: upside down and in negative image, you can clearly read "Carhartt" on the hat in that photo, HFHM! Furthermore, I was watching NTTD at the time, and because of the impact, the film started to play backwards at half-speed. In that, you can clearly hear Daniel Craig telling you what every single item of wardrobe and prop is in every scene (followed by "Paul is dead")! If only we'd known! 😎
The SU hat seems to have a more finished trim around the base than the Carhartt?

At the time I was sceptical as to it being worn by Bond. Bond wearing a cheap baseball cap. No way. I did flick back through my old texts, but from that long back, they’ll all deleted.
The hat also shows up in Interstellar. I'm happy to see Bond wearing something from Carhartt even if they removed the logos. They've been one of my most worn brands for a few years now.
It would appear that Carhartt did make a version of this cap with the writing on the strap in a blue font, removing the need for the whole Sharpie thing.
Yes I saw that one, but figured for £33 more than I paid for the other version, as I was going to unstitch the logo at the front, might as well save this money and unstitch the logo at the back.
Japanese proverb say, "Bird never make nest in bare tree".
If you’re so inclined, you could remove the straps on the back and reverse them after sewing back in.. will get my tailor / wife to make modifications and share later. I wonder if I can convince her to mod some screen accurate hats to sell.. 🤔
It knocks it down a shade, but nowhere near giving any real result. The synthetic thread doesn't play soak up the ink well, and it stays shiny copper color. If you're looking to actually cover it, I'd say fabric paint is your best bet. or just seam rip the threads or reverse the straps. Both of these are "after sharpie" photos:

Prob the angle maybe?
kind of looking up at Bond
Well done, @sruzgar! I zoomed in on your cap to the right and it even has the faint "E" in the folds. Good enough for me! 🧢
:)
Any Curb Your Enthusiam fans in here? Here’s the all so famous hat that we all had to have.
can't believe you discounted post 114! 🤣
Prettyy prettyy good 👌
Also, with the Carhartt label blacked out on the back!
I’d say those wrinkles you see across the bottom hem are stretched out and flattened when it’s on his head

World Exclusive, never before seen photo of Bond’s drawer 😂
EDIT: but in all seriousness, the sharpies doesn't do much to the embroidery. It was probably covered with a paint or thicker ink.
Is it possible they put a piece of material over top?
I'd guess they just edited it out. It was such a short scene, probably very easily done.
You need to hold the pen on the stitching so it soaks in. Apply it in blobs rather than colouring it in. Has to be a new pen as well.
Paint pens could be a decent option. They usually tend to do pretty well with fabric/thread

I'm curious to see the results of anyone who used a Sharpie on the back. Pictures anyone?

i suggested that exact thing back in post #171… didn’t get any replies, so can only assume it’s in the ‘too hard’ box!
Thanks for sharing your experience.
The best is to switch the sides!
@Asp9mm
I've got 3 words for your friend with the screen worn outfit... Thomas Crown Affair
;)
I do have the correct product code and style and color of the hat and season and all those details now.
It looks like a lot of us (myself included) bought the wrong one or a close alternative.
I'm not sure if some of you know this or not...but when they make a movie they don't just have
1 of each item on set. In fact, it's usually closer to 10 of each item or more, especially when
stunt men and women are involved. Guess my verbiage wasn't entirely accurate.
But low and behold, I still identified the hat.
I haven't been on here much, to be honest, I've been a little put out, and not by this thread. I couldn't care less.
I do find it funny though that the 2 hardest items to ID in No Time To Die were Jed North and Carhartt.
My enthusiasm for all this really died right about the same time the bombs landed on James Bond's head.
At first I didn't like the ending at all, it bothered me, but it really opened my eyes to how fictional all this really
is (something I obviously knew) but it really drove it home. I think I'm just ready to move on. It was fun for a
time.
I did get put out by how flakey people were over the Quantum of Solace Tom Ford Polo project, yes, that I
admit.
It's an expensive shirt I get it, but why waste everybody's time if you're not going to commit, and even worse,
back out more than once? Even that's not a very big deal, but that started my downward spiral into an apathy
towards all this. The main reason for me, I decided to do some introspection. And I decided time is
precious and I didn't like how and where I was dedicating a lot of my time, or more so how I was letting the
important things slide and putting them on the back burner. I'm sure one of these days in the
near future, I'll simply stop logging in. I loved the hunt, and the detective work and trying to figure things out,
I loved the thrill of finding something truly rare and difficult to procure...but now I want to channel my energy
elsewhere. I truly wish everyone on this forum the best and I don't want to leave on a bad note. Hope you guys
have a great day!

You say you are leaving us, is that with the style and codes of the SA hat?
