Representing the kingdom of Norway in the Olympic fish-spearing events?

"How was your lamb?" "Skewered. One sympathises."

Belive it or not, it's not her fish-spearing skills she's best known for. 🤭

Renate Reinsve, star of "The worst person in the world" (She really isn't 😄). You'll see her again come Oscar time. After her Best Actress win in Cannes many think she's a future star.

Bérénice Marlohe's dress in the movie "Valley of gods" is noteworthy ....

Bérénice Marlohe is a brave woman ....

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent

No, she's an artist who's willing to suffer for her art.

As evidenced by the haircut and getting groped by John Malkovich.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent

I don't see her getting groped on these photos ...

  • Westward_DriftWestward_Drift Posts: 3,113MI6 Agent

That scene (where she is wearing this dress) would not be appropriate for this website.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent

I haven't seen the movie or even the trailer myself. The photos came up as I was wondering what Marlohe is doing these days.

I just watched the weird 1966 Modesty Blaise movie. I wasn't a fan of Monica Vitti's performance to be honest (sorry), But the Italian actress Scilla Gabel played a supporting role, and I frankly think the James Bond casting people made a mistake not getting her for one of Connery's movies.

she's like an effect from a 3D movie! especially that third picture, woah

thanks for reminding me I meant to dig out my copy of the dvd and watch it this weekend, since its suddenly the weekend! you gonna file a Report on the film TwoFour?

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent

I already have written a review, actually.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent

Roger Moore and  Scilla Gabel actually did a movie togther: Romulus and the Sabines (1961). It was first released as "The rape of the Sabines", but I feel "Romulus and the Sabines" works better. 😲

Here's a scene with both of them; SCILLA GABEL - YouTube

Good God! I just found a trailer for "The rape of the Sabines" and it's easily the worst trailer you've ever seen. Narrator in an upbeat voice; "The rape of the Sabines! One of the bawdiest stories in history, made acceptable for the entire family by a delightful cast". "You see .... while some young ladies resented it, there were others who delighted in ...... The Rape of the Sabines!" 😱

I am in awe @Number24 That trailer is quite possibly the most offensive thing I've seen on You Tube for quite a while. What on earth is the commentary meant to be telling us about this movie: "We don't think this film will fill a gap in your knowledge of history!" It certainly won't. How on earth can they equate rape with enjoyment? That line about family friendly entertainment is simply appalling. Later on the announcer says something like "It's hot... Very hot... A hot comedy" A COMEDY? Seriously? At 2:29 one of the cast is pictured holding up a babe and the poor mite looks absolutely petrified. I don't blame it. The tot is so still I wondered if it might be prop. Amazingly, for 1962, at 1:18 when the Romans are seen kidnapping then Sabine women, there are clearly two topless actresses being carted off. Did this pass the censors in 1962? I don't know about bawdy, gaudy seems more like it. The film looks absolutely dreadful. I know Sir Roger considered it to be garbage. I'm almost inclined to watch it just to see how truly terrible it really is.

Yes, it's horrible. Should never have been made. Incredibly the story of the rape of the Sabines has been told countless times in history books without much judgement. It was even a popular topic for paintings with artist like Rubens making their versions. People can complain about "political correctness" all they want, there are some things that shouldn't be made.
