Never been on these group watchalongs before? Do people chat here on the forums?

Make sure you have the movie available in some form (I'm a DVD man myself) and be on this thread tomorrow at the right time.

We start the movie at precisely the same time regardless where in the world we live. Then we chat about the movie in the thread while we're watching it and have fun. It's like sitting in the living room watching a movie with your friends, only your friends are in different countries and you have to type your comments. You're welcome! 😀

Does anyone have it on Betamax or Laserdisc for me?

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 22,334MI6 Agent

Barbel may have an extra VHS copy ...... 😂

somebody should post links to all the original WatchAlong/Live Commentary threads to show how its done!

here's Dr No for one example

@Higgins organised these events almost two years ago, one for each of the previous Bond films, and they were hilarious, and a wealth of new information

unfortunately I don't have the dvd so cannot join in the fun, but I am eager to see what all you film scholars have to say

Silly suggestion time, but would a zoom chat be good for this?

No. I look bad on camera and I'm not wearing any pants.

I also don't use Zoom. My co-workers didn't even have to make me stop since I never started.

  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,619MI6 Agent

Not a bad idea, but I‘ll give you some background:

We still have folks that can‘t manage to start the movie on time, so how do you think, a Zoom conference would work.

It‘s also good not to talk over each other and have the ability to watch the movie and conversation when it‘s appropriate.

Imo, the Formate just like it is is pretty good

    Barbel has! 😁

😁 Most of the above is true, though you forgot to mention Betamax.

Guys, I can't promise to make tonight though you know I'd love to. Bride Of Barbel is in bed with Covid, though I'm still testing negative (so far) and that obviously comes first. You might have noticed that I haven't been posting the last few days.

I might be able to pop in, but as I said no guarantee. Catch you later, but I don't know when.

PS All have a look at  https://www.ajb007.co.uk/discussion/comment/1037387#Comment_1037387 if you haven't already. Ye Adventures Of Sir James - latest instalment "Nay, Time To Die!" awaits.

First of all I think I speak for everyone in AJB when I wish you both the best. I hope you'll be able to join us, but if not it looks like we'll get a good number of people who are going to participate.
