    Very nice young Donk -{

    Certainly looks in great condition, is it better than you imagined?

    Thankfully yes. The paper stock is poor, the bleed through was strong even when still rolled & the two halves do not quite line up so it is staggered each side on the join ...smells right too! :D

    Absolutely love that :x

    Who needs a kitchen anyway? :))

    Thank you for sharing the image...and for sharing your remarkable story it tracking it down -{

    Okay, hardly vintage but a great Bond collectible none the less!
    DSC01710.jpg

    When Corgi Classics released their Definitive Bond Collection at Taylor's Bar in Soho, London in November 2000, 60 units of this cheap looking piece of tat were produced. Appearing to be 4 of the production models clipped to a piece of thin card with a blured image of a 271 DB5. Not a patch on the Corgi presentaions of the 1960's and 1970's however first impressions are deceiving. The Lotus Turbo was sprayed a different bronze to the production version & its bumpers were painted black where the production models were unpainted so tat but rare!

    Ex-Dave Worrall collection 1965 Gilbert 16602 Oddjob handpuppet. If you look closely the backing card is still unpunched although some idiot punched a hole through next to the factory punched pop out & it still carries the original $1.40 price tag

    Factory fresh 1965 Gilbert 16012 first issue Oddjob doll in Butler box. Interestingly like the illusive tuxedo box Sears James Bond doll was manufactured in Portugal. The second issue Karate box was made in Hong Kong.

    I'm not a fan of modern Corgi diecasts but this 2006 release ticked all the boxes. Sold through Corgi Goldstar stockists only 200 units were produced of this quality item although the packaging and certificate were done a bit on the cheap. One can only imagine what the value of the piece would have been if someone at Corgi had had the forsight to give them out to VIP guests at the Casino Royale Royal Premiere?

    Roadgoing and underwater box art for the 1977 Edai Grip Lotus Esprit licensed model kit. The model replicated the features of the diecast with the addition of a battery operated motor, the missiles however were relocated to the front bumber instead of the correct bonnet location.

    Aurora 585-249 factory fresh 1965 Aston Martin Super Spycar model kit. Effectively an unlicensed James Bond Aston Martin DB5 with full movie gadgets with the addition of whitewall tyres!. Stunning box art with a 16 page instruction manual dated 1964 give a hint to what this could have been if Airfix had not had the license to produce the car in all its 1964 screen glory.

    It’s been awhile but the Donkey is back with a bang, 007 record breaking bangs to be exact because these unique bespoke props are off the Casino Royale Aston Martin DBS roll car. When the rear bumper separated from the car in the final roll it took the carbon fibre diffuser with the bespoke exhaust caps bolted firmly inside with it! -{

    Well fellow AJBers, it has been 2 years and 2 pretty **** years at that but ....... welcome back to Donk's Modest Bond Collection:

    My thanks to The Bond Vivant for badgering me to take certain pieces out of storage, some of which are now back in storage 👍️

    Well fellow AJBers, if you are still awake after Blair and Gav's first forage through The Modest Collection? then grab your popcorn and a nice mug of tea for Part Two (new pants may be required?):

    It was an honour and a privilege, my friend. Thanks for being so gracious, and so generous with your time. I hope that you folks enjoy the film of Donk’s incredible collection, with the second part coming next week.

    I watched it on the television and most certainly did enjoy the film, looking forward to part 2.

    The pre title sequence is EPIC to say the least ...... oh and Donk's bits aren't bad either 😉

    Well done Blair, Donk and Gavin

    Superb stuff, some incredible things there. I've never even seen that photo of Connery crouching down before, let alone that poster/ad board.

    I'm interested by the unused folding rifle from TND you mention, what would that have been?

  • ppw3o6rppw3o6r Great BritainPosts: 2,280MI6 Agent

    It was used by Brosnan but the transformation sequence was cut! Wait for part two of Blair and Gav's video and ALL will be revealed 👍️

    Oh great thank you, I didn't realise you had it, I will look out for that.

    Seeing the Lazar gun was a treat, I'm very happy that something that unique and recognisable is being looked after so well.

    Apart from the Donkey juice that gets on it every now and then.

    Can’t wait till part two. Ya know how much I love that TND Sterling. It’s about time that thing got some justice done to its creation.

    Well done Blair and Donk, it’s about time the collection got some public kudos.
