Paloma’s Lipstick Earpiece Case

Just seen on IG that there are some of Paloma’s props going on display at Bond in Motion, including the lipstick case that conceals the earpieces. Quick google and it looks like the prop department modified an Estée Lauder lipstick. (Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick 120) - looking at some of the images it seems the current lippy has slight lily sharper edges, but I’m no expert! Anyway, I’m sure one of you lot will nip to Boots, grab a lippy telling the assistant that ‘it’s a gift for the missus, honest’ , then work your magic!

Are we sure its Estée Lauder ? theses have been in the pipeline for a while, though it seems we had the wrong colour.
Nope, it was just a punt and now having seen that pic, not sure at all!! - I just did a quick Google search and found the EL one - looked right and colour looked close.
maybe if any other pictures come out showing the end plates we might be able to tell if the logo is there, obviously removed or replaced..
Ive seen a pic of the end cap and no logo. The one that I posted are also made in blue, it's a case of finding stock unfortunately.
Noted, That would suggest that it’s just a stock lippy case like you say! Is it sold as an empty one?
It is indeed 😊
I just hope my missus doesn’t check my Google history.. I think she could cope with most search queries, but if she might worry with all the ‘lipstick’ variation search terms on there now!
Just tell her your name is Dorris on a Saturday 😁
It may be based on a lipstick safe / pill box, and not on an actual lipstick, or a combination of the two.

Are we sure it’s a converted bought item and not just a scratch built prop based on something real world?

I have just looked at a few screen grabs, is it me or has the screen one got a much bigger slot for the ear buds than the display one ?
So we are back to if it is the right screen colour again.
Oh do be quiet Singe 😂
Yep, the screen one has pretty much a full length slot.. very different
It wouldn't be the first time that they displayed replicas to be honest.
Sorry, think I’m a bit behind the curve after looking at my balls for too long.
You’ll be telling me next that EoN have displayed replicas at exhibitions in the past.

I thought that you hadn't been able to see them for years 😎
We know that they have used replicas of past props, I just find it strange them being used for current props displays.
To me it looks like it could be the dark purple color, looks black in most captures though. Why would the props department have multiple colors of lipstick cases for one scene? Exhibition one is obviously a replica and could be from the same stock that props dept. bought for production, so the color is dark purple, deep purple, eh?

Nah it’s blue. A deep dark metallic blue.

So, the exhibition one is also in wrong color, eh?

I wouldn’t put it past them.

It might be the screen used one, it’s just that the outer brass tube isn’t fully pulled down to expose the whole slot.
It looks like they only used the plastic case. The two end plates and all of the inners were replaced by fabricated brass parts.
Good point. I thought the brass tube wasn't meant to be pulled down, but to turn the outer tube left or right. 🤨

Looking at the screenshots and prop, I think it twists around And is able to pull down slightly as it’s just a collar and might not have been made to tight tolerances. It is just a prop after all, The large cutout on the outer tube that corresponds with the cutout on the inner tube looks like it may be twisted around and be at the back in the image from the exhibition and not in view at all. So gives us the impression that the inner tube gap is smaller than it really is and taking the inner and outer tubes out of context with how it should look.
The outside tube must totally cover the inner with the big slot, you can see 2 ear buds inside the screen one. But I get what you're talking about.
It probably does, but it’s just been pulled down as well as twisted around in that picture. I guess whoever displayed it has no idea how it’s supposed to look.
There are other replicas/commercial pieces in the same exhibit.
Thats just a shameless advert for the 007 online store!
