This is kind of a brief (and very shallow) exploration of that whole Ivy League look. But Madras is one of my favorite fabrics for summer shirts (spending 20 years living in a tropical climate forced me to look for options beyond linen). So there's very much a practical element to it as well. Anyway, something a little different to mix things up a little 😁
Not been around for a while but now back on track and re engaged with all things Bond!!
This has to be my most budget outfit from a DC Bond film!!!
OK not quite I have a vintage SM300 on mesh (I prefer the sword hands to the new one) and I swapped the V sunglasses for Oakley as I do not have the crokie neck strap for them yet.
But the rest cost me about £65 all up
T from M&S £10
Fill flops Havaianas from mall stall in last years end of summer sale £15
Shorts Jed North doctored off eBay £30
(OK I admit add the watch and sunglasses and it takes me out the budget bracket a little)
Cheers 😎
My name is Bond, Basildon Bond - I have letters after my name!
I've been looking at that Presage for a while! It hadn't quite occurred to me that it has a touch of the 300 about it, but you're probably right! I do like it though, I think it's only a matter of time given how often I keep coming back to it 😁
You can never have too much of a good thing besides if you take your oldest pair and drive your car over them 3 or 4 times they will be screen accurate 😁
I received my pair In yesterday. Lovely. My first SA pair. They were a touch more narrow than I thought the would be however they still fit pretty well. I should have gotten two pairs. Ha!

LOL. Too true. I am keeping one pair in nice / dressy condition and have been wearing the other pair with zero regard for stains/damage for this exact purpose!
Good point. I’ve been wearing them around the house a bit to get that stretch going.
My only real complaint in how thin the soles are. I can really feel that arch poking up through the insole. It’s happened on every pair of Sperrys I own, save one pair. I’m sure that feeling will subside over time. Or, rather, I hope it does.
I totally should have gotten a pair to beat the hell out of and one to wear in nicer situations. Maybe I will. Gotta convince my partner that it is the “thing to do”. Not sure she’ll buy that though. :)

Ultimately, the Acne Wall Street trousers seem to be nothing more than dark grey\charcoal dress pants you can find easily at Target or Kohl's. The subtle sharkskin design seems to be what makes it unique, and the alternatives for that are in the $150 range, just based on my quick search.
But there are decent basic charcoal trousers all around, like:
I know it's the Factory line of Banana Republic, but if you're not in a rush you can keep an eye on these, as they're bound to be half off at some point (by Black Friday the latest):
If you want to spend some $ to get that high quality sharkskin look either the above Banana Republic pants seem good, and it looks like Charles Tyrwhitt has a nice version for $170:
Thanks for the recommendations. I found a pair of Hagar pants from Kohl's for $60 that look very similar. The Paul Fredericks are nice but there's non in my size. The Ones from Charles Tyrwhitt look more silver than gray, I ended up picking up the Hagar's from Kohl's and also the Banana Republic ones since those are Skarkskin texture. I'll see which ones look best.
Not sure if I shared these trousers, but they're Lauren Ralph Lauren trousers from Macy's, currently at $123... won't let me post the link, for some reason.
I think early October is the next big Macy's one day sale, if you can wait.
I highly recommend a drive to Kohl's and Macy's to see them in person. Did you get your Haggars online or in person? They look about the same in pictures, I hope.
@JTullock23 I was just thinking about that...... man I should have waited lol.... I'll check them out whenever he releases them
@armenianmovieman thanks, I had seen those macy's ones before just wasn't sure on the size, each company makes their trousers a bit different when it comes to size, Some I'm a size 32 or 33 and some I'm a 34. I ordered online for Kohl's same goes for the Banana Republic pants
For me it looks better than the Matera jacket. Never liked the look of the Matera jacket and I think it is a style that will date very quickly. This has more of a classic look. Good find.

@Mailfist That sweater is a great find! I'll include it in an upcoming post, with credit to you for the find.
New post (which has absolutely nothing to do with Bond): Madras shirts:

Alternative to TB gingham short sleeve shirt.
Polo Ralph Lauren check camp shirt. £125 from John Lewis so maybe not so budget.
The gingham is bigger than screen accurate but it has the revere collar.

Bond’s SA Sperrys are back in stock! And, with the code BONDLIFE you’ll get 30% off I believe. That is for a limited time though I do believe.

Is it bad that I already own two pairs and am now tempted to buy a third??
Yes it is...unless you plan to beat one into screen accuracy and need a couple to wear.
Nope. Live your truth. :)

I used a wooden shoe stretcher to widen mine ... worked very well!

The shoe stretcher I use and highly recommend is: the Bulldog - heavy-duty wood & metal 2-way premium shoe stretcher. For your awareness.
Budget alternative SF tie.
Marks & Spencer £25.
TB budget alternative. Bather camp collar cotton blend poplin shirt.
Different shade of blue so not SA but has the revere collar and the pockets.
Available from Thread £110.
Anyone know of a good alternative for the Acne Wall Street Shark Gray trousers? The ones from Skyfall

Sizing is VERY limited, but these seem decent too? $38 plus shipping, not bad.
Target's version is $34.99 under their Goodfellow & Co line:
And they carry a $45 Haggar version as well:
Men's Wearhouse has $50 Haggars that look good.
If you want to spend some $ to get that high quality sharkskin look either the above Banana Republic pants seem good, and it looks like Charles Tyrwhitt has a nice version for $170:

Hopefully someone more familiar with the Wall Street pants can chime in as well.
Also, Calvin Klein seems to have plenty of this style all around, between Nordstrom and Macy's and Men's Wearhouse. One example for $50:

Royale Filmwear is releasing their version of the pant soon. In case you were not aware.

Royale is actually making the pants Bond wears on the bridge in Spectre (and also at Mr. White's cabin earlier in the film, IIRC).
If he's doing both, that would be pretty awesome!

You’re correct. I had confused the two. Sorry about that.

Found a linen jacket that could be swapped for the Matera one, although it is more of a bomber, it has the feel and laid back style.
