Why isn't there a political thread on AJB? I think I'll start one! 😊 It could do with my useful insight.
On the subject of which, there's a General Election in the UK today, Friday 5 July, so don't forget to go out and vote! I certainly intend to do so, I've been waiting for this moment for years.
I suppose I should steer away from such matters, and I know I don't speak for everyone on this board, but with Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister, natural order has been restored.
Once again there's a UK Prime Minister who's older than me.
There is still a political thread, or more accurately a current affairs thread, in the forum. I'm thinking of the Ukraine thread, and the reason it works is because we don't disscuss party politics there.
And because we all hate Putin. Might be different if someone piped up, 'Well, tbf I think Putin has a reasonable claim to the territory and Europe has done plenty to provoke him...'
Anyway, it's summer in England and I'm sat awake in bed wondering if I should buy some cashmere pyjamas.
I've fallen foul of that thing where - mercy! - the sun comes out and it's shorts weather, only you forget and carry on wearing them past 6pm and gradually come to realise you're getting the sniffles. Once the sun goes in, it's cold - it's that kind of summer.

I do enjoy discussing politics but I don't think internet forums are the best place in which to conduct such discussions. I find it even creates arguments within my immediate family (the results of the recent general election being a case in point). So I've found it's best to keep any political opinions very much to myself or to only air them with like-minded individuals in conversation.

It's fine here in S/W Scotland. All the rain we get probably has something to do with that.
My sister says she hates Harry Kane's face.

I'd like to congratulate USA with another 4th of July. I wish you the best!

You need to look to America to find leaders older than me 😁
Do the ‘walking dead’ count? 👀🫣
I see no one wished Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦 on the first of July 👀 🤗
My dream is to start the Israel, abortion, Trump and EU Tread. I can't see how it can go wrong .... (just joking!)
Porn... you forgot porn.
That'll keep Barbel going throughout the night.

I forgot porn and woke. This is what the forum needs to unite! It's the perfect peace plan.
I had most of those going at one point and it didn't end well. No more political threads for me. 😉
Don't let facts and experience take away hope! (I haven't found the emojis on my new phone yet ...)

There was a general election? Must have missed that.
Oh no, just what I don't need....
That was in France...

Is there a way toget rid of old quotes you later decided against posting?
Is this the world's smallest karaoke bar?
No, sorry. You can delete the whole post and try again, if possible.
How impractical! Who runs this place, anyway?
Be careful. Editing posts can be dangerous.
George Lazenby has tweeted that he's retiring. He's not acting anymore, giving interviews, signing autographs and making public appearances.
Good luck with his retirement. I wish him all the best.

This music video with the Norwegian artists Kygo and Sigrid look and sound amazing, and I have to say that this video contains no AI or CGI!

That's enviable, well done there
I'm a big Sinatra/swing fan. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled across the whole AI 'reimagining' thing!
Here's a rendition of him singing 'Smells Like Teen Sprit'. The generated voice is very good. See what you think.

I'm not sure if this is AI generated or not but...
