Hobbies fitting James Bond

Bond has some hobbies such as gambling, skiing and diving. I know Fleming enjoyed spearfishing while scuba diving, but I can't remember if it's ever mentioned that Bond did this.

But can you think of other hobbies that would fit Bond? I started thinking of this while I was looking for one of the men fishing for salmon in a river earlier today. It occured to me that salmon fishing would appeal to Bond. Like gambling it's often a tense waiting game while you look for clues to win the competition: Like it's chase ending in a kill. I suppose it's seen as a hobby for the well-to-do in many countries, much like skiing and gambling.

Do you agree? Can you think of other hobbies you can see Bond taking up?

I took this photo today.

Absolutely beautiful! Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing Bond fish on a river like that. I'm sure they'll probably make Bond an avid pickleball player, however.

But other hobbies? I'd love to see Bond play golf again perhaps he's playing with Felix when he gets a call from the office.

Womanising, followed by gambling, drinking and eating luxuriously, golfing, diving. I don’t see him skiing as a hobby, he’s just proficient at it. Fishing?? No, no, no, not in a million years.

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Fishing? Certainly not for a hobby…for catching fish to eat - yes.

To be honest golf seems a bit weird now for him. It's hard to imagine Craig's Bond going for a round of golf. It's a bit old man-ish for 007 nowadays I think.

I don't hate fishing for him; I could imagine him having a hike in the Highlands and catching some fish. Sailing seems pretty him too.

Here's what the official dossier said that CraigBond's hobbies were back in '06 (obviously mostly taken from Fleming):

    J. Bond has excelled in solitary sports. He is an avid climber, diver, swimmer, and an excellent runner. During his teens, he spent time studying both climbing and skiing with local Austrian instructor Hannes Oberhauser during term breaks at Fettes.

    J. Bond does not race cars, but he does enjoy driving very expensive vehicles very fast. J. Bond has gambled at many European casinos, although never to ruin. He drinks, but not to excess.

It'd be quite fun to see him climbing I think.

Well, salmon fishing is a solitary sport.
