I agree that no theory can be proven or disproven. We are only speculating here for the most part. However I think if there is evidence to counter a certain theory then it ultimately weakens it and evidence which supports the theory ultimately strengthens it.
Just my two cents on the GF theme whistle - that was an in joke for the audience. It wouldn't have played any role in Bond's universe. Also there are arguments out there that the janitor could be whistling Moon River by Audrey Hepburn.

Isn't that precisely the point I was making earlier about every one of these little 'references' whether it plays a role in Bond's 'universe' or not? Not everyone will spot the in jokes and the references, some will but either way, we all come out smiling. Over thinking these films just blows my head.
I believe there is a slight difference though. A reference like the janitor whistling the GF theme is a nod to the audience but is not meant to be a reference to show that the films share the same chronological timeline.
A reference like Bond looking at the items in his office from DN, FRWL and TB I believe is an attempt by the film makers to show that the films share a continuous chronology. Of course you could argue that it’s just a harmless reference like the janitor whistling the GF theme and each film stands on its own with a standalone mission however I think there is enough evidence there in all the films to counter this argument.
Just watched OHMSS again more closely and have found a new revelation and now have to go full smug mode 😁😁😁
Earlier in this thread some people were going on about the safe-cracker in YOLT being superior to the one in OHMSS and therefore YOLT must come after OHMSS because why would Bond revert to a more obsolete safe-cracker in OHMSS from using the superior one in YOLT? (I already posted my comments earlier in the thread on this topic)
NOW I have found clear evidence that YOLT comes before OHMSS. Take a look at this screenshot of Bond’s desk when he takes out the items from his previous missions:
What do you see next to the watch? It’s the safe-cracker from YOLT!! Therefore YOLT happened before OHMSS and Bond needed a bulkier safe cracker to open the safe in OHMSS.
One explanation for the OHMSS safecracker being bigger (apart from the inbuilt photocopier!) is that it’s an inferior model because it’s not from MI6 at all. Bond is effectively rogue at this point so presumably wouldn’t have access to MI6 equipment, and Campbell passes it to him from a Draco building site: maybe the safecracker is a Draco-owned device: it’s never actually confirmed that the film version of Campbell isn’t a Draco employee and indeed the evidence seems to point to him being one.
Fully agree. I also mentioned pretty much the same earlier in this thread.
One last thing I noticed - if there are individuals who want to comment on the lack of reference to GF other than the janitor whistling the theme and M and Draco talking about the bullion job of 64, there's also something else:
I am no expert on golf or golfing bags but it does seem that Lazenby's Bond has the same golf bag as what Hawker has in GF. The strap, colours and size all look the same. Remember Hawker was Bond's caddie but I think it is safe to assume the golf bag and clubs belonged to Bond. Lazenby's Bond therefore continues on from the Connery timeline with the same golf bag ⛳️

That’s a good spot, I’ve never noticed that.

Very impressive, sinium.
If that isn't a subtle continuity link, I'm Arnold Palmer!
That’s an excellent spot, I’ve never seen anyone else point that out before.
Two great spots that I've never noticed either @sinlum great work on an interesting thread
