Connery had a reluctance to play the character for as long as he did, and its been clear that he resents the fact nothing he did after Bond was good enough to shake people's perception of him as the "the origninal 007." I actually can understand his frustration with that.

Ironically, I find his take on the character a bit po-faced and stiff compared to all of the others! All the others have made their takes on Bond seem a bit more human, emotive and to me, interesting. Ma\ybe its a side effect of groing up with Sir Roger's take on the character?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Sean Connery is not a particularily nice guy, but I've also heard that George Lazenby is even worse.

Well done Iona Havelock RIP - this one will run and run...

A friend of mine once worked security on the set of The Rock. And yes, Sean Connery is a real miserable sod. In fact my friend had a lifetime's adhoration go up in smoke during that film and particularly in the promotional time building up to its release where he worked closely with the actors and PR company involved. Stories of how much of a b*****d Connery was bounced off everyone to the point nobody was sure what was true or not. Things that kept coming up were arogance and curtness and most of all - epic miserness. The man is tight. Anyway, this is all second hand, but my friend is a sound guy.

There's no smoke without fire as they say...

I believe in the old saying You should never meet your heros, you'll always be disapointed.Sir Sean seems quite bitter about his treatment by eon,but seems to regard the sucess of the series to himself, forgetting about J Barry's music and K Adam's sets not to mention the stunt teams, editors, directors, writers etc.It was a fantastic mix of many talents that made Bond a sucessfull series. After leaving Bond it took him years of making fairly average movies before the untouchables made him a big star at the boxoffice again.
Then again he is just getting old and grumpy I'm starting to go that way myself :D

well I would'nt say that .. I would love to meet some of my heros and I think they would live up to there reputation.. when I say meet them I dont mean in like an interview.. I would mean in the situation of a quiet drink down the local pub with the lads.. sort of set up.... Roger Moore come on who wouldnt enjoy old Roger's company... Daniel Craig I think would be a sound guy ..... Brosnan also... Lazenby I think would be brand new as long as someone else was paying for the drinks :)) Big Timothy Dalton .. I think would be an interesting guy to chat to....

Connery would be ok if you were paying for the drinks and there was no chat or direct eye contact or any questions asked towards him what so ever... just silence... :))

    Well, he is Scottish... :v

I think the trouble is that we don't want to meet Sean Connery, we want to meet Bond. The original screen Bond from Dr.No to DAF. Never mind that other thing he did.

But Sean Connery isn't Bond, so we are always going to be dissapointed. :#

I agree with what you are saying there...

    except the Scottish remark.... :v

but luckily we have a good sense of humour... :))

but I have to say the way Sean Connery is .. does not represent all Scottish ..the larger Majority .. are good neatured.. good sense of humor.. not tight fisted at all .... very generous.. and good to talk to ..

Its Connery that drags us down ..... :)) so please dont be influenced by steriotypes.

I mean come on ... from 1000 BC up until the 60's / 70's the English still thought that everyone is Scotland had Ginger / red Hair :))

yea :)) those stupid English :)) i think they read too many newspaper cartoons after WWII showing different cultures and nationalities in a steriotyplical way.. and thats what they knew of that race so... to speak .. until they met one ..

heres a great sketch .. from one of my all time favorite Comediens PAUL WHITEHOUSE from the Fast show... depicting what I am talking about .. :))

other people .. thinking other cultures behave and look a certain way ... :))

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BV8KfpE3BA

I am only kidding About the English.. I have some good friends who are English ... and thats the truth .....

But I do hate it when you are talking to someone about a certain race or type of person and they always quote a mysterious friend or relative whom you have never heard of before up until this point .. to try and justify what they are saying.... a guy I know ( wished I didnt .. absolute 5 star Bullsh**er ... from where I work .... and if you worte everything he claims and said down .. I think one of his cousins / friends is a 7ft midget who is every asian race under the sun .. who is also been in every war up untill now .. and is disabled but can ski very well and lived out in the wild like Grizzly Adams for a few years... he was also part of a tribe in the rain forests... and has been around the world 9 times or so ... he is old but he is young..... etc :)) anyway you catch my drift .... I am not saying it is deffinetly the same person .. but you switch off and stop listening to him everytime he talks... so at the end of the bile that is spoken you can only asume .. he was talking about the same person again and again... as you lost interest from start to finish
