I have the carry on film series and one of the films carry on cowboy has some dodgy accents played the one that annoyed me most in that film was kenneth williams but the others wernt too bad but i have seen one film Cliffhanger and the actor playing the villian is american but playing him with a english accent.

That's a very good point. To add to it, there are a lot of American movie heroes (and, increasingly, Brits playing American movie heroes--Christian Bale's Batman, anyone?), so it's not like we Yanks are an underrepresented minority in filmdom. Let the Brits have Bond!
