Closing Love Scenes

Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever are the only 3 Bond films which do not close with a love scene or an implied love scene, although Bond and Tiffany hug each other at the end of DAF.

My favorite is DAD...after the long epic thrilled the YOLT music with the Bond theme just is awesome. Bond still hasn't lost what it stands for after all of these years...
Personally I opt for the former. My favourite end love scene is TLD which ended the film beautifully. My least favourites are the notorious Christmas gag scene & the end of AVTAK with Stacey Sutton in the shower with her Grandad (oh sorry that was Roger wasn't it). Before I cause a spate of angry pro-Roger posts can I just say I love Rog & all his films, I was just making a cheap joke!

While on this subject, one thing I always found odd was M's shocked reaction("I thought he was with Dr. Jones." Then "007!") when the MI6 staff caught Bond and Christmas at the end of TWINE. Isn't this the same M who in the previous film specifically ordered Bond to contact his ex-girlfriend Paris Carver and "pump her for information?" For that matter, isn't this the same M who earlier in the same film reminded Bond in his mission to shadow Elektra that "shadows stay behind or in front, never on top." Therefore, why is she shocked?

I like the way Goldfinger ended, it wasn't so intrusive. They could have been rescued..yet thought..nah...
LOL! No angry post from me. I must agree that, of all the Bonds, Roger aged the worst (onscreen at least). Even Connery didn't look that ancient in NSNA!
But I liked The World Is Not Enough's the best. I liked the last line, that was pretty funny. DADs was awsome too.
I also like the more understated romantic scenes. The second category you mentioned seem a little forced and cheap to me. It's a bit of a lame excuse for a laugh. Like everyone else has mentioned, M and Q and everyone else at MI6 knows of his womanizing habits, so why should they be so shocked in the first place? Even after so many movies with such an ending, you'd think they'd get used to it by now.
As for the "interruption" endings: these resulted in the "re-entry" gag in Moonraker, and therefore I won't hear a word said against them.
And I think that Thunderball is actually one of the most romantic endings of them all...
@merseytart
However the other part of me quite enjoys the Keeping the British end up quips.
All time class ending FRWL!!! Runners up OHMSS and CR'06.
Bond’s Beretta
The Handguns of Ian Fleming's James Bond
bond replies "so why don't you ask me?"and then that wonderful song.oh it gets me every time.no smut,no double entendres,sheer class.:x
The way they had to give Brozzer these Roger Moore type endings was another cop out, preventing his films from standing on their own imo.
I think leave the romantic ending off QoS, certainly not the smutty 'i've got you now' punchline.
