I thought that too! So often in our society it's the criminal that has the last laugh and the innocent party/hero who pays the price.

I remember those first Dr Who episodes so well - the first story was set in prehistoric times and then the Daleks in the second story.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

The battle of Aleppo, Syria, is still going on. Aleppo was not long ago said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the Middle East. Here are some pictures showing the same location before and after the destruction:

Damn Assad who is willing to gass his own people and drop barrel bombs on them, and damn Putin who bombs anyone who might stand in the way of his ally Assad.

It's utterly tragic. And today's bombing of the hospitals is horrifying.

They say with age comes experience ,Now as some of you may remember ,my dad has suffered a stroke ,and will now need 24 hour care . My wife and I ,are now left to make some sort of sense of my dads finances ,I would strongly urge any of you who may have elderly parents ,to go and visit them one afternoon and get them ,to tell you where /what every thing is for ,where they keep their car insurance ,life insurance ,pension details, bank books funeral plans ect ,a couple of hours with your mum and dad will save you loads of time / grief in the future .
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

These things happen. Earlier a leopard (or some other big cat ?) walked into a school in India ....

...... and then escaped from the Zoo, he was moved to. :D

On the School attack, at one point he went for a photographer ( by a swimming pool)
My wife ask why tne the photographer didn't jump in ? I pointed out, no photographer
would risk damaging his camera. :))

On a debate today about the old Pope John Paul 2 having a girlfriend. One of his
defenders said " We're all human, we all make mistakes, even John Paul ", but I
Always thought the Pope was supposed to be infallible, :D

Renato Bialetti died at the age of 93.

Bialetti's father invented the Espresso Maker, which can be found almost in every household in Italy but Renato made it a worldwide success!
Bialetti's ashes have been put into a - a Bialetti Coffee Maker!

Sushi like caviar is something I've never tasted, but I know instinctively I wouldn't like. :)
as an old girlfriend said about oysters " It's like swallowing some really salty fisherman's
    phlegm !" :D

I have tasted both caviar and sushi. I didn't like the caviar (too salty), but I walked into a sushi bar in Gothenburg because of the principle principle "try everything once - exept incest, folk dancing and alcohol" :D . I was completly prepared to have the same reaction as the Minister of Fisheries, but to my surprise I liked it.

Has anyone any experience of updating maps on a Garmin satnav ?
It's been two and a half hours, and it doesn't look to be doing much. :#

I have a Garmin, too, but haven't tried updating it. I have to say it's not the best satnav I've ever had, and I'm planning to get a better one soon.
