Pierce Brosnan's Production Company

Thank goodness DAD was a big moneymaker so Pierce can show his acting range and do the thing he wants to do.

Here's a link to a nice feature on his Irish Dreamtime studio
from a while back. Maybe you've already seen it, but not everyone reads Business Week.

I heard a while back the PB was going to be making a sequel to the Thomas Crown Affair, any truth to that? (I realize Irish Dreamtime may not make this movie). I hope it is true; I always look forward to PB's movies.

A sequel to the Thomas Crown Affair has been on the cards for some time now. The latest word is that Irish DreamTime is currently developing the sequel among other projects it is working on.

The sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair is based upon Eric Ambler's novel "The Light of Day" which was filmed to great acclaim in 1964 as Topkapi--it's still regarded as one of the finest 'impossible crime' movies ever made.As with the original film, this newer production hopes to shoot on location in Istanbul, in and around the famous Topkapi Museum.

One of the titles being considered is The Topkapi Affair--although I suspect that in the end it'll be called The Thomas Crown Affair 2.

That's good to hear about the Thomas Crown Affair sequel. I will also have to try and find Topkapi on video and watch it.

Here's an update regarding the Thomas Crown Affair sequel.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pierce Brosnan is quoted: "Thomas Crown 2, for all intents and purposes, will happen. The script came in two days ago and it's good. We've announced it, we've said to the world that we're going to do it - come hell or high water, we're going to do it. The bar is high on this one, the expectation is high on it."

Brosnan, who will produce, added that Rene Russo is not part of the sequel.

    Here's another update.

COMINGSOON.net reports that MGM Chairman and CEO Harry Sloan has given the green light to The Thomas Crown Affair sequel with Pierce Brosnan again in the lead.

"Pierce still looks good in a tux," he said, not divulging many other details about The Topkapi Affair.

PB should thus make (finally) good films with all this money… Thomas Crown was his great film… But Evelyn, After the sunset and The tailor…
Waiting for Thomas Crown II...Let us hope that he will not wait 65 years to do it! "Entrapment"'s done !

I liked the Tailor of Panama.

Sorry to here Rene Russo is not going to be in Thomas Crown II. She was great in the first film and her and PB had fantastic chemistry.

I saw The Matador the other day, and I thought Pierce was excellent in it (not a huge fan of the film though...). Looking at this though, I'm glad he wasn't in Casino Royale, because he did look old. :(
