It took me awhile to warm to Tennant....I really did like Eccleston as the Doctor and Tennant just couldn't match up....but he got better as the series went on...Matt Smith just hit the ground running....and I really love what Moffatt is doing....plus it helps he has Karen Gillan ;%

I liked Tennant from the off. Don't get me wrong, Matt Smith is fantastic, and yes Karen Gillan is a BIG plus. I just feel there was another season in the 10th Doctor. I hope Matt sticks around for another couple of years at least.

I'm another who liked Eccleston, and thought Tennant was great. Infact I thought they'd never get anyone as Good, Then Matt Smilth comes along. Thought the last series wasn't as good and hope He gets some better material this time. and agree with LOOK7 OUT, I hated the new colourful Daleks, reminded me of the new Minis. :))

Eccleston was all right, unlike Tennant who wound me up as his tenure wore on. The only good thing about his era was when he regenerated into Matt Smith, although no doubt we will see Tennant and that self-indulgent arse RTD again for the show's 50th anniversary.

As for this year's series, not as good as last year's series in where I found even the turkeys good, but there was still a couple of good ones with "The Rebel Flesh (Which was written with Smith and not Mockney Man in mind)/The Almost People", "Night Terrors" and "The Girl Who Waited".

I didn't quite get Tennant from the off....I thought he got better as his tenure rolled on....all of his best episodes were written by Moffat, IMO....I'd have been happy with another series from him but I'm glad RTD gave Moffat a clean slate to work with, and Matt Smith is rapidly becoming my favourite Doctor....I do think this is helped by having Moffat in charge though...

On hindsight I really liked Tennant's first two seasons, the 4th season was still enjoyable but overly farmiliar and by the '09 Specials Tennant's farmiliarity was starting to breed contempt (even though I dug "The End of Time").

Matt Smith's first season was nicely crafted, script wise, but directionally felt a little "off" and the budget had taken a bit of a hit (with some rushed CGI in places). S6 has been an improvement and the production staff has found its confidence again. NuWho will never please everyone (especially the purists) and had its problems, but it's been the most successful sci-fi series on TV since Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Interesting to see how Tonight episode pans out. The Doctor absolutely, properly died - Timey wimey cop out or fiendishly clever plot twist??? Only 4 hours to find out!

I thought it was another stunning episode...some glorious banter between the characters too...plus Amy looked very hot when she wore the eye patch ;%

I thought the 'reveal' was obvious though....it was something I thought of when I first saw the 'character'...very well played out though....can't wait for the next series now :D

So I am sure this has been asked before, but Netflix has the 2005 Season 1 onwards to the 2010/2011 Season 5. As someone who has never watched the show, is this a good place to start, or should I go back furthers to older seasons and episodes?

It's perfectly fine to start at the 2005 episodes. I'm a huge fan of Dr Who and I've never seen a pre 2005 episode in my life!

The first Preview of the New Series is available to look at. The Doctor, Amy and Rory visit the Wild West. It looks like another case of Cowboys and Aliens.

Have you got a Dalek stored away somewhere? Believe it or not, the BBC is struggling to find Daleks that they require for the new series. They want to use real Daleks instead of CGI versions. The BBC has issued a world wide appeal to borrow back Daleks that were previously sold at auction.

Interesting article in which executive producer and chief writer Steven Moffat talks about the role of the companion. In fact, he regards the companion as the main character. He does not like the idea of the Doctor travelling alone as it would be unhealthy for him.

Here is a photo of a graveyard scene for an episode that will feature the Weeping Angels. It very much looks like a Weeping Angel is being placed or held in position by a member of the crew behind the headstone.

Here is a mini-episode of Doctor Who written by the children of Ashdene School. The episode arose out of a BBC competition in which primary schools competed to write an Olympic themed script.

Matt Smith has carried the Olympic Torch in Cardiff. He said it was a great privilege to be involved and joked that he would do it in his underpants. He ran from the Norwegian Church in Cardiff Bay to the National Assembly building.
