I'm no expert but I thought he drove a great race today in very difficult conditions, but Vettel is one heck of a driver in the rain as witnessed last year at the Italian at Monza. I think that Webber has certainly had his share of bad luck in the past. This is turning out to be a very interesting and exciting (unless you're a Ferrari or McLaren fan) season. Mark Webber finished second in China. It was his third career podium finish, although it would be nice if he could finish first. I'm curious, does people think he's unlucky or is he simply not a great driver?
Webber has out-qualified and out-scored every teammate he has ever had. What does that tell ya? In his first year at Jaguar, he scored 17 of the team's 18 points. He's beaten teammates like Heidfeld and Rosberg, so having Vettel alongside him shouldn't affect him at all.
I have season reviews going back to 2005, and if you watch them it's almost laughable how much bad luck Webber actually has. Fuji 2007, Mark was running second in the race, not needing to stop again, and was much quicker than Hamilton infront of him when the safety car came out. He was in great shape before Vettel managed to smash him off from behind. Breakdowns and being hit off by other drivers are the things which have plagued Webber's career.
But don't count him out, I say! He's good in qualifying and always out-performs his car. Vettel could be taught a thing or two this season.
I think Webber is a fantastic driver however I think he will be outdone this year by Vettel. Vettel just seems to have something that only the very best have like Schumacher and Alonso. I think Massa will be around a little longer than Raikkonen so I really hope that Ferrari picks him up after Raikkonen is done.

Button is doing well, that's for sure. I geniunely thought he was a great driver and now he's showing everybody he is. He's a loyal chap and stayed far too long with a poor team. It's been great for Britain with the past two years with Lewis Hamilton, now we can all bask in Button's glory as well.

Thought I'd revive this thread and see if there are any of us F1 fans still around (or any new-ish members to the forum who are F1 fans). I see some names on this thread that I remember from way back, but haven't really been active for a while.
I can't believe it's 8 years since I last posted in this thread. Not much has changed in that time, I'm still a Williams fan (that'll never change), and still eagerly awaiting their first championship since 1997 ...
But F1 itself has changed a fair bit. V6 turbo engines being the major change in the last few years. I'm still not sure I like the sound of V6 turbos, but racing hasn't really suffered much.

I'm shocked to find myself in agreement with Higgins. Vettel is one hell of a racing driver and one of my favourites (and quite possibly the best) of the current generation. 4 championships in a row with Red Bull, now a new start at Ferrari that seems to be going well. I jumped on the Vettel bandwagon when I first saw him on debut, and instantly thought that this man would be a future world champion. I didn't think he'd be a four time world champion, mind you!
