Roger looks strange in AVTAK

not only really old, but just flat out weird. it's mainly his eyes, it looks like he's wearing crazy contact lenses. (or something)
"Moore isn`t just long in the tooth - he`s got tusks, and what looks like an eye job has given him the pie-eyed blankness of a zombie. "
any thoughts?
Although, AVTAK did give Moore the oppurtinty to play Bond more times than anyone else. Thats probably the films most noteworthy feature.
That is certainly a testament to Roger's popularity, they kept bringing him back until he was absolutely positively too old to continue. They must have figured an old Moore was safer than risking another "Lazenby."
...
PS-to AVTAK's credit, there arn't any silly gags or cringeworthy humor. Its a pretty serious affair. What a shame it's not very good. Neither looking or feeling like a Bond movie+ it's not much better than your average hollywood action flick.

Well, whether you choose to disregard NSNA from the official canon or not, it's difficult to deny that Moore and Connery made seven films apiece.

The stupid chielf also. The car breaking in half in Paris. The police cars getting stuck at the top of the raised suspension bridge then crashing down to mayhem! Lots of silliness. Even the iceberg submersible, why is an M16 craft like that kitted out like Hugh Heffner's bedroom?
And what kind of survellience device is the snooper? It doesn't look anything like a cat, its huge, who would be fooled? And how did it get to the upper floor of Stacy's house?
Ah well.
No I agree. He looked less wan than in OP, where he did look heavier...

It's too light-brown imo, and whilst i think he looks "younger", in another sense I don't. He looks more artificial (don't get me wrong, the surgeon did a good job). Like Joan Collins, who doesn't look 60-odd, but she doesn't look anything else either, because you can see through it to the real age. In certain light, Roger looks quite youthful in AVTAK anyway, but not when he's wearing that leather jacket or puffy grey-blue coat with the Zorin logo.
"Roger was already too old when he started - and by the time he finished his eyebrows had gone pubic!"
However if I look like him at 81 I'll be lucky, In fact, he looks better than me right now, and I'm 39.
For starters, he was too tanned all over his body. So many people think a tan makes them look young. Most of the time in my opinion it looks worse. He wore that leather jacket trying to look hip. Worst of all though was the hair. I always used to wonder why it was so long and covered the back of his neck so thick-like. I think that is because they were trying to hide the wrinkles on his neck from where they gave him a facelift. The skin on his face was pulled so tight they had to tuck some of it somewhere.
Looks aside, Sir Roger turned in a good performance in AVTAK. It's just too bad OP was not his swan song though. That film is much better than AVTAK. Also, I still feel he looked younger in OP than in AVTAK.
I think folk go for an all over tan because the skin starts to grey a little as one gets older, leading to grey or white hair. The tan camoflauges that.

I just watched A View to a Kill yesterday and i must report it has become one of my TOP favorite films. Roger delivers a great performance and actually looks fairly handsome.
AVTAK feels very much like an old-school 007 movie especially compared to the new Daniel Craig films.
A View to a Kill RULES. You can quote me on that.

Live & Let Die - 1973
No way! IMO Sean should not have done NSNA - It looks as though the stunts were arranged very carefully so that his "hair" remained on his head. I can't believe that as a 35 year old, married with 2 kids, I'm sitting here posting a reply about how 2 male actors looked in the 1980's!!
Live & Let Die - 1973
It was a case of the filmmakers going over board in attempt to make Bond look hip. In AVTAK he wears a leather jacket, beds a host of blonds and surfs. Octopussy and For Your Eyes Only seem to make a reference to his age: he was more world wearly in his performance.
For the record I think Connery looks awful in Diamonds are Forever. His weight for example is all over the place.
Yeah, I agree Roger Moore was much older looking in AVTK than he did in Moonraker just six years ago, with his died hair that is starting to look like a wig, corse voice (especially when he yells in action scenes), and reptile skin. He looked worse than Harrison Ford did in The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
in OCTOPUSSY roger looks old but still cool an capable of Bond, he would have looked ok if he didnt have the face lift...

had his Mole removed, Many have suggested he also had
a little "Laughter lines" removal from around the eyes.
well, in my early days of AJB I was heavily influenced by popular opinion that AVTAK was the worst Bond film.
So I honestly never even gave the film a chance, until a couple years ago when I forced myself to re-watch it and was sort of stunned by how great it was. This might actually be the best Roger Moore Bond I thought to myself!
