    The Mist (2007).
I really enjoyed this film version of the Stephen King story. Some great
Characters and events unfold. Showing how " Society " can break down
in times of extreme conditions and stress.
After thinking about it, I still can't decide on the ending ?
( if you want a spoiler, just Google it)

We just finished Outland. Wow, I really love this flick. My Son's review:
This was really cool. I like that it wasn't an unrealistic superhero action film. Aside from the unrealistic zero-pressure effects on people. Connery was great.
He liked Connery in Dr. No, but felt that he gave silly performances in YOLT & DAF. This movie kind of surprised him. He mentioned that Connery's performance in Highlander was great too, but that it being merely a supporting role he didn't realize that Connery had such depth as an actor. He expressed interest in seeing Hunt For Red October. Wait 'till he sees The Rock!! :v

I saw "The Martian" last night. It stars Matt Damon as an astronaut who gets stranded on Mars for years, except in Norway where it stars Axel Hennie who plays one of the astronauts who are trying to save him :))
The movie is directed by Ridley Scott and I must say it is very well made. I highly recommend it!

    The Exam:
Small budget British psychological thriller, eight people enter a room
for a job interview asked to turn over a page and answer the question
but on turning it over the page is blank !
Quite good but Honestly could have been filmed as a one hour play.
Although there are some good performances, but not worth going out
    of your way to watch.

Reminds me of a story about the Norwegian priest, psalmwriter and poet Peter Dass who lived in the 15th century. He was up for his oral exam. The oral exam was holding a sermon in a church. He had left the script on the pulpit, but his friends had replaced it with an empty sheet of paper as a student prank. Peter entered the pulpit, saw the naked paper and barely without pausing he
began on a completely new sermon. "Here is nothing" he held up the empty paper. Then he showed the back of the paper. "And here is nothing ..... and our Lord created the world from nothing."
Peter Dass means "Peter Shithouse" in modern Norwegian BTW :))

    The Martian in 3D

Ridley Scott-directed adaptation of indie author Andy Weir's breakthrough book (a decent read in its own right, if not exactly prose elevated to art) starring Matt Damon---and a very solid ensemble cast which includes Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, etc,. about a NASA astronaut mistakenly believed dead and left alive on the planet Mars.

It's fun and engaging, with enough science to hold the narrative together without bogging it down, which was a hurdle to overcome while reading the novel---author Weir is a space/rocket science wonk, and it shows---and a good dose of humor to counterbalance the suspense of the situation. Mars looks beautiful; a magnificent desolation in effective 3D. In fact, the special effects were excellent all the way around. The short version of the story: Astronaut Mark Watney (Damon), conveniently a botanist and engineer, has a temporary hab module, a rover and enough provisions for about 400 days...and the nearest rescue mission is 4 years out. Watney must work out a way to grow food, generate drinking water, etc., and work out a way communicate to NASA...and a rescue mission ensues.

For those who didn't care for Interstellar (which I happened to love---it's my favourite film of last year), this film is the antidote to that: straight-ahead linear storytelling, with some laughs added, as Watney has to sustain himself with 1970s sitcoms and his mission commander's collection of digitally-stored disco music. It's really an old-fashioned story about a hero overcoming adversity with tenacity, hard work and plain old smarts. The running time is a fast-moving 141 minutes, and I recommend it.

    4 out of 5 stars.

I just started watching the Bourne series. I've seen bits and pieces before but never seen an entire film. The first two are on Netflix and I will be watching the 3rd tonight if I can find it somewhere. So far the series is decent, but I probably wouldn't go back and watch them again. I never did like Matt Damon in any of his previous movies so I did go into the series with a bad taste. I heard the 3rd one is the best so we'll see if my opinion changes after that.

I plan to see I & II soon.

I just rented & started watching Mad Max: Fury Road.
After twenty minutes I started skipping through. Ten minutes later my ordeal was over.
The colour saturation was like watching a Road Runner cartoon.
The needless editing out of every third to seventh frame of action made me miss the (by comparison) smooth and languid look of QOS.
The computer game production design was just a little too much, even for a Max movie.
    Hardy paled beside Gibson.

I'm glad if many liked this entry, but I'm SO glad I only wasted 30 minutes & $2.00 on it. :#

    Star Trek: In to Darkness.
I've watched it a few times. I know the reboot of the series is not to all fans taste, but
    for an all action flick, it ticks all the boxes. -{
Now settling down to watch Hammer's " The hound of the Baskerville's " it looks
Fantastic in HD on Netflix. -{ with Cushing and Lee.

"Legend" directed by Brian Helgeland. This film is about twins Reggie Kray (Tom Hardy) and Ronald Kray (Tom Hardy), both fine performances :D Helgeland has allready proven he can make good gangster movies in LA Confidential, and I think he does a good job here too. The story of the twins who ruled underground London in the 60's is exciting and the brothers are portrayed with sympathy, but still remembering they were brutal criminals. My only critisism against the movie is the over-use of hits from the era on the soundtrack. Still, very much recomended.
