Dunkirk, not really impressed, beaches too empty, 1/3 of a million troops were evacuated not a couple of thousand, town virtually untouched in reality it was nearly flattened, uniforms too clean and tidy and not one of the 63,000 vehicles left behind to be seen, nice aviation scenes until the competition standard Spitfire glide with its prop on a brushshaft and some of the air to air shots clearly show the camera is not mounted on a Spit, (lower exhausts on the Yak 52 used clearly visible), out of ten maybe a three.
Dear god don't let Nolan anywhere near Bond I only hope that Ridley Scotts possible Battle of Britain movie is better than this crap.

It's 90 minutes of entertainment spread over two and a
Half hours.
It fills it's runtime, as in it never drags, but wether it does good or bad things in that time.....for every good thing the film does, it's does three bad things. There's some nice stuff there, but overall.....meh.

Not sure if this even counts as a film and I don't know if I'll get flack from here about it or even know how many (if any) are even familiar with it but I just finished Initial D, Third Stage, which was a movie produced as a direct continuation of the previous seasons of the Japanese television series.
Subtitles FTW.
It's far from my type of thing but a good friend of mine got me into it and two days after binging...well...here we are.
As far as the movie goes, it used every single gag and expanded on many character's backstories that I was interested in. Wasn't sure how it would transport as a format, it being originally a TV series, but it worked quite well.
I liked it. Could've worked as a good ending to the series but it had a touch of "Bond will return" at the end credits.
Anyway, rewatched Atomic Blonde.
Things are much clearer now but my opinion hasn't changed on the narrative.
TD;DR...it was way, way too messy but it now sort of clicks. Wish they'd gone the simpler route and maybe the film would've worked better.
Also, it feels...unfinished in some areas. Some punches don't have quite the same kick as some others do and the director isn't a specialist on slow dialogue.
There are no words to describe how disappointed I was by this -not only is it the worst Star Wars film I've seen (even worse than one with Jar Jar Binks in) but it's the worst film I've seen this year, and this is a year in which I watched Trolls.

It was ok. This movie has been done before but the setting and characters are what make it somewhat interesting. Not going to lie, I watched it for Craig and he is brilliant. Truly a great actor and we're lucky to have him as Bond.

I haven't seen it yet but I'm in no rush to. The new Star War's films are so overhyped only because they're Star Wars films. I liked Rogue One but Force Awakens was just a rehash of a new Hope.
It was ok. This movie has been done before but the setting and characters are what make it somewhat interesting. Not going to lie, I watched it for Craig and he is brilliant. Truly a great actor and we're lucky to have him as Bond.
I sort of want to imagine how his career would've turned out had he not been Bond.

I saw Last Jedi with my brother yesterday and we were both extremely underwhelmed by it. Both this and The Force Awakens can't seem to be able to tell their story without undoing and dismantling everything the first six films worked so hard to set up. Luke Skywalker's arc was especially hard to accept as I could not equate the Luke for the first 4/5 of this film with the one from Episodes 4-6. Likewise, the plot stacks the deck by having characters behave in ways that go counter to what we know of them and withholding information from one another for no good reason other than to create artificial conflict and unnecessary subplots that could be completely discarded without affecting the final outcome.
Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I really dislike the movies that wallow in deconstruction and can only advance their own story and characters by tearing down everything that came before.
I saw it yesterday and I absolutely agree. My friend and I both thought it was one of the worst films we've seen this year, if not ever. Thought it was way to pandering and incessantly slapstick. And I'm with Mark Hamill in disagreeing with just about everything they did with Luke Skywalker.

Saw Last Jedi again. It's the Spectre of Star Wars: some odd choices (although, in this case, more the choices of how to execute story moments rather than the story itself), but it's still an enjoyable enough film.
I watched The silent enemy yesterday the main character was a chap called Buster Crabb ,some nice watches in the film .I later read about the life (and death ) of Crabb ,makes James Bond seem a bit tame
Apparently Crabbs story was Flemings inspiration for Thunderball! Film also starred the great Sid James (DC's twin ) kidding, I have now adopted the TP's theory that all things Bond are beautiful and QOS is my favourite non RM Bond film!!) brilliant little film!
Dunkirk, film of the year for me, never been a big fan of Tom Hardy but this film has changed my mind. Would be interesting to see Hardys Bond against Cilliian Murphys Blofeld in a Nolan Bond film, unlikely I know.

Saltzman produced the film, and its two predecessors. The silent movie is "Alexander Nevsky" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Nevsky_(film) As well as Kronsteen, Count Lippe is in BDB too!
