I'm often alone on the forum. I could settle quite cosily into this thread, talking to myself.

Being in Tokyo I live 9 hours in the future (compared to the Brits for instance).

That's me. Always ahead of the game, one way or another. Minutes ahead when seconds count.......

Oh, I wondered where the name Tokyo Matt came from. I thought it might be some comic book figure or something, it's quite catchy.

At the moment I'm here. So may I say pleased to meet you Matt. :)

And I do hope you are not in any danger from all the dreadful things that have been happening in Japan. :#

Oh sorry Mr. Martini. I thought the last post was by Tokyo Matt. That said I certainly do hope he's all right. Those disasters that hit Japan are so horrific. :o

    Hello Mr. Wint.
    Hello Mr. Kidd.
"Kochira Ko So". (the same goes for me).

Coincidentally, I posted an hour or so ago that I like many of the names that Fleming used for his characters. Wint and Kidd were two examples. It's kind of like one example really.

Fortunately, my wife and I were safe in Tokyo, as were our families. Thank you for your very kind concern.

Tell you one little true story.

A friend of mine runs a pub in Tokyo. She is originally from the disaster area. Her parents and cousins still live there. Fortunately none of her family were hurt.

She showed me a photograph of her parents back garden. Beautiful back garden. Looked like a flower show. Her father's full time hobby and his pride and joy.

She said "There is nothing left now except for the three cars and a boat that landed in it."

Her families count themselves amoung the lucky ones.

Sometimes, life sucks. Some people are amazing.

Thank you for letting me know you are all right Matt. And thank you for the little story. That is so amazing.

I suppose in a sense whatever property and possessions they may have lost they would indeed be among the lucky ones as long as they were all alive.

The joys of being a mod. I get AJB all to myself, and what do I find? A dozen spam postings by a "Bot"--this one selling Nikes--that requires me to delete each and every post from every forum and to ban the so-called user. . .all the while knowing more "Bots" will be sent out, some selling DVDs, some advertising escort services. . . A moderator's work is never done!

That's why we love our Mods. They're here to protect us from those nasty bots. And some of us, when we see the bots will alert the mods. The Mods sweep in and use swift and blinding bannings. I think we all owe our Mods a few beers, or the drink of their choice.

Whilst not quite having AJB all to myself I find two other spammers have been active on the boards...at least on had the good grace only to post once...alas the other was a "Bot" too....happy times deleting each post one at a time X-(

Talk about lie back and think of AJB :))

The forum has felt near-dead for the past few days! I keep refreshing every few hours and sometimes there are no new posts! Bond 23 news needs to get over here so we can start chatting up a storm.
