Touche, however, still didnt think Moore was manly enough. I like his humor and the movies that he played in were tailor made for him. But it is not the Bond that I imagine, just seems more like a spoof. A nice spoof, but still.

    I see that you and I are kindred spirits when it comes to Connery vs Moore. And I agree with much of what you said in your rankings (although I am a fan of both Dalton and Craig, and I enjoyed all of films you ranked lower than AVTAK more than I enjoyed AVTAK). Anyway, welcome aboard! -{

Thanks Blackleiter, nice to discuss with other freaks like me :)

In all truth, Bond movies are like sex and pizza; they are always good. I can even watch the atrocious DAF and DAD at any time of the day more or less.

On my list, the numbers 6-17 are a big pile of the average Bonds. They are more or less interchangeable in rankings. Number 12 can be number 8 for example and vice versa. There are in my eyes 5-6 real classics and 2-3 really bad Bonds. But like I said, even the bad Bonds are brilliant in a way.
OHMSS, FRWL, DN, GF, CR, GE, SP, YOLT, TB, TSWLM, LALD, TLD, TND, FYEO, SF, MR, TMWTGG, TWINE, OP, AVTAK, DAF, LTK, QOS, DAD

    1. Connery 2. Craig 3. Brosnan 4. Dalton 5. Lazenby 6. Moore

    1. Skyfall- Masterpiece and the Ulimate Bond film.
    2. Casino Royale- Just gets better as the years go by. Gave the tired Bond franchise a kick up the ass.
    3. OHMSS- Best Bond film from the 60's and Barry's Best composing soundtrack.
    4. FRWL- Connery's Best film
    5. Goldfinger- Connery's last great Bond film and that theme song is just mindblowing
    6. FYEO- Moore's best Bond film by a mile
    7. LTK- Dalton's brilliant the film has its flaws but is a dark and brooding film.
    8. Dr No- Connery is the star but it plods a bit but still a great film.
    9. QOS- Underrated by Fan's a great follow on from CR. It's flawed but Craig holds it together
    10. TSWLM
    11. TLD
    12. Thunderball
    13. Goldeneye
    14. LALD
    15. AVTAK

My top 10 would probably be:
    1- Goldeneye
    2- Casino Royale
    3- TSPWLM
    4- Goldfinger
    5- Skyfall
    6- Dr. No
    7- Live And Let Die
    8- Licence To Kill
    9- FRWL
    10- OHMSS

I think after that there's quite a few that are pretty equal. Bottom 5 would probably be:

    18- Tomorrow Never Dies
    19- Die Another Day
    20- Thunderball
    21- Moonraker
    22- Quantam of Solace
    23- Octopussy

That's just based on the ones I watch the least because they're ones that don't stand out as much when I go to watch a Bond film

It's nice to see AVTAK rating high/fairly high on some lists here. It seems that the film is gradually becoming more popular... I think it's safe to say that it is not the least popular bond film overall by the combined masses... that honour seems to go to DAD (And according to IMDB, it is DAD too)

It holds a special place in my heart cause its the first Bond film I ever saw. Although Moore was too old, its a fun film nowhere near the worst Bond film. The theme tune is great and Walken is brillant.

Moore doesnt like heights, guns, narrow spaces.....etc.) to play a hard edged Bond.

Disagree..you are talking about the actor personally and what he said & with Moore you never know... he might have been joking.
Roger Moore was a Captain in the Royal Army so he knows guns, & used guns in almost all his films, if he's afraid of heights then he overcame it by being an actor, cuz he was on a high building in TSWLM where he kills Sandor, he was on a cliff in FYEO (excluding the in studio closeups)..he obviously flys in planes to go from country to country to film these things, he was on a very high replica of the Golden Gate Bridge, & to seal the deal he was in outer space. Also I think he was a very ruthless borderline serial killer Bond..that's why his relaxed affable persona is genius. :))

Sorry, but none of that changes the fact that to me Moore is totally unconvincing in most of his action scenes and in all of his fight scenes. That's one of the main reasons it's so difficult for me to accept him as Bond.
