    1) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Connery may have been the best Bond, but this IS truly the best Bond movie. The most action, the best story, the best Bond leading lady, the best John Barry musical score).
    2) Thunderball (probably the most quintessential representation of Bond. Slightly beat out by OHMSS. Connery's personal favorite Bond flick, incidentally).
    3) From Russia with Love
    4) Goldfinger (a GREAT film, but the most overrated because so many people consider it the best. In my opinion, the flash begins to ever-so-slightly outweigh the substance of the storyline).
    5) The World Is Not Enough
    6) The Spy Who Loved Me
    7) Dr. No
    8) For Your Eyes Only
    9) You Only Live Twice
    10) Goldeneye
    11) License to Kill
    12) Live and Let Die
    13) A View to a Kill (a mediocre Bond film, but not nearly as bad as most people make it out to be. Easily better than the seven listed below).
    14) Diamonds are Forever
    15) Octopussy
    16) Tomorrow Never Dies
    17) Moonraker
    18) Die Another Day
    19) The Living Daylights
    20) The Man with the Golden Gun (Easily the worst Bond film ever. Just plain dull).

01 - From Russia With Love

    03 - Goldfinger
    04 - GoldenEye
05 - The Spy Who Loved Me
06 - The World Is Not Enough

17 - You Only Live Twice
18 - Live and Let Die
    19 - Moonraker
20 - The Man with the Golden Gun

So, if I'd give my favourite movie 20 points and my least favourite one 1 point and divide it by the amount of movies an actor has starred, this should be my actor-ranking

    Lazenby: 14 = 14
    Dalton: (19+8)/2 = 13.5
    Connery: (20+18+13+11+5+4)/6 = 11.8
    Brosnan: (17+15+9+6)/4 = 11.75
    Moore: (16+12+10+7+3+2+1)/7 = 7.286

Well, since this is not entirely true, I suppose my system sucks. True ranking is:
    Connery / Brosnan / Dalton / Moore / Lazenby

I am sure I will change my mind by tomorrow, but here goes.

    GF
    TB
    FRWL
    TWINE
    LTK
    GE
    YOLT
    DN
    TND
    TSWLM
    DAF
    OHMSS
    TMWTGG
    TLD
    LALD
    DAD
    FYEO
    OP
    AVTAK
    MR

As you can tell Roger Moore is my least favorite Bond. I don't completly dislike him I just found his Bond movies to be a little light for my taste. I didn't care for his fight scenes either.

The immovable top 5(they haven't budged in my entire time here):

    1. TLD
    2. OHMSS
    3. LTK
    4. FYEO
    5. FRWL

The Next Best(these move around a little):

    6. GF
    7. OP
    8. GE
    9. TSWLM
    10. DN

The One's I Won't Skip Thanksgiving Dinner At Granny's Just to Watch on Spike's Next Bondathon:

    11. TB
    12. TWINE
    13. LALD
    14. TMWTGG
    15. MR

The One's I Won't Switch Away From Whatever's on the History Channel Just Because It's a Bondathon on Spike:

    16. YOLT
    17. TND
    18. DAF
    19. AVTAK
    20. DAD

If I had to rate NSNA, I'd put it somewhere between 11-15. Even though it's an obvious ripoff of TB, Sean looked like he was actually having fun being Bond again, and Klaus Maria Brandauer played a great lunatic villain. Throw in Barbara Carrera as Fatima and Max von Sydow as Blofeld, and it's a serviceable Bond movie. The one area where TB has it beat hands down, however, is Claudine Auger over Kim Basinger. That's no contest. ;)

    Hello

This is my first posting on the site. As you can see I'm not much of a Brosnan fan so I'll be interested to see what Daniel Craig can bring to the role. I wasn't too enamoured with the choice until I saw footage his press conference which has made me more open minded.

    1. Goldfinger - Oddjob, a great cast, reigns supreme
    2. Goldeneye - Great acting, loved Natalya, great stunts
    3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service - in depth look at Bond's character, Tracy, "sensitive Bond"
    4. A View to a Kill - Though most hate it, I love this film, Jenny Flex, the theme song, Zorin
    5. For Your Eyes Only - It was in Greece, Locque was freakin ugly though had to turn away a lot from the TV
    6. From Russia with Love - It had many exotic locations, Klebb was crazy, loved her shoes
    7. The Spy Who Loved Me - Naomi's helicopter chase, Barbara Bach in general, Stromberg was weak but Jaws made up for it
    8. You Only Live Twice - Helga was hot, Pleasance's appearance as Blofeld, great stunts
    9. Octopussy - The Acrostar Plane, Gobinda's death, it was pretty cool
    10. Live and Let Die - Somewhat silly, silly villains but Samedi saved it for me, I liked Rosie and it got me obsessed with Tarot for a week
    11. The World is Not Enough - Elektra was a good villain, Renard wasn't, they killed Valentin, Christmas sucked
    12. Thunderball - Two words: Fiona Volpe. Also, pretty good movie.
    13. Dr. No - It was so boring, I had to turn it off 30 minutes into it
    14. The Living Daylights - It got slow in a lot of parts, Necros was really lame
    15. Tomorrow Never Dies - I don't know what it is, I just don't like this movie
    16. Diamonds are Forever - Stupid, everyone was stupid
    17. The Man with the Golden Gun - Goodnight should have died the second she was introduced, the plot, Scaramanga saved it a little but is overrated
    18. License to Kill - Boring, odd, stupid, villains have the IQ of 3 and Dalton is at his worst.
    19. Moonraker - Mind-numbingly annoying, ridiculous in many ways, Drax always looked dubbed and the orchid speech scared me when I was little
    20. Die Another Day - Death to Jinx, Miranda should have lived and been the Bond girl/Jinx killer, recycled every movie, Madonna, no real plot, crappy special effects, score didn't fit the film, "Kill him! Quietly!", the "Vanish", Zao's face

And whoever disses Goldeneye or AVTAK better run...

The Best of the series in no cronological order:

    Dr No
    From Russia with love
    Goldfinger
    On her majesty's secret service
    For your eyes only
    The living daylight
    Licence to kill
    Goldeneye

The silliest Bonds Roger Moore made are the worst, with perhaps Moonraker at the bottom.
With all its faults DAD was far better than most of the movies Moore made.

    1 Goldeneye
Fresh, great acting, superb setpieces, fine pacing
2 The Spy Who Loved Me
The best example of the cinematic Bond, with all the Bondian elements perfectly in balance
    3 For Your Eyes Only
Moore playing it straight, and does a great job
4 The World is Not Enough
Real drama, and Brosnan's best performance
    5 Goldfinger
    Classic Bond, Classic Connery
    6 Dr. No
Just a very good film, that hasn't dated
7 On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
    Tough, sharply plotted, and emotional
    8 License to Kill
    Dalton unleashed, brave departure
    9 Tomorrow Never Dies
    Bond by numbers
    10 Live and Let Die
    Great change of pace
    11 The Living Daylights
    An intelligent Spy thriller
    12 Die Another Day
    Popcorn Bond
    13 Thunderball
OK, but running out of ideas
    14 You Only Live Twice
    Uninspired
    15 Octopussy
    Can't find it's tone
    16 From Russia With Love
    Kinda boring
17 The Man With the Golden Gun
    Enjoyable Pap
    18 A View to a Kill
    Lacking story and execution
    19 Moonraker
Bond does not belong in space
    20 Diamonds Are Forever
    No-one wants to be there

    1. From Russia With Love (It's a classic that has it all. Great story and acting. Action is great. Terrific locales. What's not to like?)
    2. Dr. No (Barebones Bond. I like the simplicity and grittiness. This is where it all begins. Is very close to being #1. Best line: "You had your six")
    3. Goldfinger (the movie that best defines him. Great story and female co-stars)
    4. The Spy Who Loved Me (along with FRWL, the most romantic of the Bond films. I liked Bach's character. Moore is well suited for this one. Great music that really holds the movie together. Best theme song of the series)
    5. Goldeneye (I like the '90's makeover and gritty settings. The Russian locations are very impressive. Judi Dench as M is a great foil for Bond, and their conflicts make for some of the film's most memorable moments. Great female stars and villains. A strong storyline. Electronic music score is a bit weird and somewhat distracting. Yet it seems appropriate for this stark post-Cold War setting. It seems like most of it was written with Timothy Dalton in mind, but it's bleak setting balances well with Pierce Brosnan's charm and charisma)
    6. For Your Eyes Only (another one well-suited for Moore. Weakest music soundtrack of the series. Bill Conti should have stuck with the Rocky movies)
    7. Thunderball (One of the first ones I ever saw as a kid, back when ABC was the only network airing Bond films. Always loved the gadgets. Good story and characters.)
    8. You Only Live Twice (Hey, at least it's got Connery! Like the Asian locales)
    9. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Lazenby's a bland Bond, and seeing Bond in a kilt was a little weird. Still a good flick. Diana Rigg is always great. Why isn't this on TV more?)
    10. Die Another Day (Yeah, I liked it. So? The first half of the movie is very good. Liked the idea of Bond in a North Korean prison. Falls apart toward the end. CGI a bit over the top. The invisible car didn't bother me, but the surfing and snowboarding did. Wish the vendetta angle was played up better (hell, I'd be mad if I spent a year being tortured in a North Korean prison!). Yet, it's still a decent popcorn flick. Not sure why everyone hates it)
    11. Tomorrow Never Dies (Great action, good villain. Like the Vietnam setting. Good charasmatic bad guy (greedy megalomaniac businessmen make good villains) Story weakens somewhat weak toward the end, though)
    12. License To Kill (I like Timothy Dalton in this, though he is a bit too dark and serious. Liked the rogue agent on vendetta angle. Female leads are very good. Bad guys are menacing as opposed to comical. The Wayne Newton televangelist character is awful and distracts. What hurts this movie is that it seems like just another action flick)
    13. The Living Daylights (an otherwise good movie spoiled by lame villains. There is no one strong 'bad guy', only a few weak ones, and that hurts the film. Dalton's good, but way too brooding)
    14. Diamonds Are Forever (hey, I liked this one. Some cheesy elements, but for some reason many of them work)
    15. Octopussy (Has some flaws, but it's not bad. Moore balances the humor element well here, particularly in the street fight in India, which was among the funniest scene ever in a Bond film)
    16. Live And Let Die (the 'blaxploitation Bond'. The New Orleans setting is pretty cool, but the plot is a bit weak. Liked the villains)
    17. The World Is Not Enough (Sophie Marceau is great and complex. Denise Richards is terrible and not believable as a nuclear physicist. First half of the movie is good with lots of action. Liked the PTS. However, plot was too complicated and messy, though I liked the twist with Electra King's character)
    18. The Man With The Golden Gun (Good villains, terrible female lead. Forgettable movie could have been better but turned into a mess)
    19. A View To A Kill (Good villains, terrible female lead. Am I repeating myself here? Forgettable movie that had no chance whatsoever. Christopher Walken and Grace Jones were the only good things in this lame 007 outing. Moore was right to hang it up after this one)
    20. Moonraker (Bond in space? Ugh! Laser guns and effects are cheesy. Looks like a bad Austin Powers flick. A really lame film, Bond or not. By far, the worst of all the official James Bond films. Makes AVTAK look like Casablanca)

Never Say Never Again would rank between 14 and 15. Didn't like the cheesy 'video game challenge' competition between Bond and Largo, but Connery was great in this movie and did well playing up the humor angle of an aging Bond. Great cast, especially Barbara Carrera. Music score is forgettable and very dated. Nonetheless, the movie is basically a rehash of "Thunderball". Sure glad "Warhead 2000" or the other 10 remakes of "Thunderball" that Sony had planned never came to fruition. Kevin McClory is one greedy *******.

    Looks like a 20-way tie, SFF. ;)
I agree with you in the sense of liking all of them. I can watch them over and over and don't consider one of them "dreadful" - and I hope it stays that way...
