    Not a believer...huh?
Jersey Devil is a goat-devil hybrid that lives in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey...I believe that the Jersey Devil was the basis of the Blair Witch Project. Mothman was a giant moth that appeared in the mid-1900's in America. It predicted catastrophies like the falling of an Ohio bridge.

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever in admitting that

I BELIEVE IN ALIENS!!! AND NO - I AM NOT HAVING YOU ON!!!

It would be far to big of a coincidence for Earth to be the only planet in the entire Universe that has managed to sprout life. I don't think that aliens are reallly like the kinds you see in things like; Doctor Who, Men in Black, Star Wars... And I've actually discovered that if you ask around, there are a fair few amount of people who believe in aliens. They just can't get to us, that's all. Like we can't get to them. They don't know what we're like, as much as we don't know what they're like.
But maybe one day, it will be revealed officially and with proof, that aliens do exist and they can come on day trips to Earth! :D OK that's a bit over the top but still...

I have a strange fascination towards the ghosts and other 'monsters' .I've read all about Mothman, Jersey Devil, Bigfoot, Nessie (Loch Ness Monster), Even in my roots (Phillippines) we have our own called a Kapre (SP?) A 13 ft tall 'good' monster.

This is a great website that I frequent

I was fishing on a boat in Washington once and I went past this area of bushes and I swore I saw this big hair thing looking at me.

I've read about all of them...none are scary, but the idea of otherworldly beings living on are planet or in another galaxy is a bit creepy...too much x-files for me...

Anyone believe in spontaneous human combustion?
  • FelixLeiter ♀FelixLeiter ♀ Staffordshire or a pubPosts: 1,286MI6 Agent
    What's that?
Anyway, to make this topic more interesting, I decided thatwe should give reasons to why and why not we believe in these things.
Here's my list to start us off.

Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Chupacabra/Yeti - no. I've never seen any. I've never heard a story of any being seen, so I don't see how they exist.

The Loch Ness Monster - They story's been around for hundreds of years so I believe it could of existed at some point, hundreds of years ago, but probably not any more. The idea of it surviving so long just doesn't seem possible to me.

The Jersey Devil - I don't even no what that is.

Ghosts - well yes and no. It seems like a pretty possible thing and sometimes in my life, unexplained things have happened. I usually don't put it down to ghosts, but it could be. If ghosts did exist, I don't think they'd all be trying to scare the life out of all the living. Until I see the actual thing I'll never be entorely convinced that ghosts exist.

Mothman - ok, I've never heard of this before. But if it's like a half man half moth thing - then get lost! :)) I don't see any way of how such a thing could exist!

Assorted Monsters - what? Like the Bogey Man? That's just a load of mumbo jumble made up to scare little kids. make sure they don't go wondering out the cul-de-sack late at night! Until I see it - no way!

Government Cover-Ups - like there's been incidents of these things and the governmen have covered them up? Probably most definitely. Don't see why not.

Aliens - I moved these till last because I strongly believe in Aliens. When people ask me 'How can you believe in Aliens?', I usually just shrug them off by saying that it's far too much of a coincidence that the only life in the Universe came to Earth.
The Universe is a big place and so it's going to be hard to find out if aliens do exist on other worlds. We can't reach them at the moment. And (officially) they can't reach us either. But if that day comes in my life when humans do make official contact with aliens, I will totally throw it back in some of my mates' faces! :D

Basically spontaneous human combustion is when a person bursts into flames reaching 2000 degrees f, for no reason.
  • FelixLeiter ♀FelixLeiter ♀ Staffordshire or a pubPosts: 1,286MI6 Agent
Oh. Like, if they're in a room when it reaches 2000 degrees f?

Well they could be anywhere, any temp. and all of a sudden just burst into flames.

Well, Domino, I believe the things you've listed are real in some form or fashion. I really believe that there are ghosts and UFOs. As vast as this universe is, we'd have to be pretty dense to believe that we're the only prominent life in it.

Not every one who attests to these things are lying when they expound on their encounters...

Of course it's hard to tell who's credible and who isn't.

Batman: "The Hammer Of Justice is UNISEX!"

Then I definitely do not believe in that! It's totally ridiculous! I might have just dropped to one of the lower Science groups, but I know that's not possible at any temperature! At some perhaps but not at any!

I believe in most of the things on your list. I believe in Ghosts most though...I do because I have a presence in my room...I think he came here to protect me...seriously.

one night, he even pulled my bed cover up further on my shoulders and then gave my left shoulder a squeeze. I'm not just inventing stuff here. My parents were deff. not in the room. I would have heard them.

I call him Erik, for lack of a real name...hopefully I'll have it someday...

with the spontaneous combustion usually they leave behind slightly scorched articles of clothing as the heat is internally produced. you know back in the 70's Uri Geller claimed to have been contacted by aliens who teleported his car while in new york and left messages on his tape recorder in a similar way to white noise recordings. funny how he never mentions that anymore.

I'd never been to that site before so i just did and man it's like... WHY BOTHER? I don't really see how people can get enjoyment out of not seeing a film. :s
I do get very annoyed by biased sites like that. There's posts of other people's thoguhts but they're entirely biased towards the site.

They generally burn internally, and even clothing they are wearing can be uncharred even though they are cinders... an unusual phenomenon!!

If anyone is interested in films about this sort of thing, check out The Last Broadcast, it was released about the same time as (and was overshadowed by) Blair Witch. It is a similar film i.e. documentary film footage found after events. It is about the Jersey Devil.
