I don't know how controvertial this is, but what about "numb/encore" by Jay-Z from the movie Miami Vice? I would have a lot of problems swallowing a rap song for a Bond title song, but perhaps something like that would work? Rap would be totally wrong in any Bond film with the previous Bond actors, but I could actually imagine rap in a Craig Bond movie. I'm not a rap fan, by the way.
Amy Winehouse could do a verygood Bond title song, but I can't reeally pinoint one she has allready done. It's just the style: soul vokals, brass ingtruments etc.

I think "Time is Running Out" by Muse would make a really good Bond song. The lyrics fit a bond movie pretty well imo. I'm not really a Muse fan anymore though but a few of their songs could be Bond songs.
Nobody Does It Better - Radiohead Thom Yorke's voice not on best form but imagine the jump in credibility if these guys did a theme. Are they still selling reccuds in the US (the big test de nos jours)?
You Only Live Twice - Coldplay Chris Martin slaughtering this but like Radiohead, imagine the boost to Bond if these guys got the gig. Again, do they sell reccuds in the States?

I think that if Madonna had used Frozen as a Bond theme instead of DAD it would have been way better and more relevant to the movie (the whole ice palace thing) but I think that the song Hunter by Bjork is way way better. It has a more ominous feel to it and I think it definitely has a modern Bondian feel to it.

I was just about to suggest 'The Killing Moon' but then I saw TOOTS had already listed it.
TOOT's Depeche Mode choice was 'Policy Of Truth', which I'd go along with, although Depeche Mode's 'Barrel Of A Gun' might have been good as a Bond number too (especially from 3.12 to the end):
Accessible gothic stuff like this would suit the mood of Craig's Bond well - psychologically scarred and brooding.
Forget Amy Winehouse... someone should definitely ask Siouxsie Sioux to do a Bond title track. Siouxsie and the Banshee's 'Face To Face' was wasted on 'Batman Returns': it would have been a perfect Bond number. And move over Danny Kleinmann: someone please hire whoever directed the 'Face To Face' video to do the next Bond title sequence:
There's no doubt that the Banshees' aesthetic owes something to Barry and Binder. If you ignore the bits with the comedy skeletons, Siouxsie's volcanic video for 'Cities in Dust' (1986) is a clear nod to Binder's montages for YOLT and OPY (with allusions to his LLD and TMWTGG work evident as well, later in the video - as the silhouetted Siouxsie rocks out in the flames, arms above her head.) (It could even be said that the images of the spookily calcified crouching corpses in the 'Cities In Dust' video anticipate the look of Binder's icey, freakish skiers in the titles sequence of TLD, as they face out towards the viewer - "the phoenix in the flame"!)

Very thought provoking indeed, Chris Walken. I must say the lyrics had better be a prophecy that never comes true. Furthermore, you reminded me that Mr. Bond is infact getting old and perhaps extinction is what he may endure for yet a few years to come. However, I am not prepared to let him die. The James Bond 007 legacy has just begun. I'd say David Arnold did a very good job in Casino Royale. The twist in the tune was to me as a foreword for the beginning of a New Chapter in the diaries of a high-tech seductive secret agent. At least for me, every Bond soundtrack creates a unique mark upon the year of its release. If you love Bond you'll like what I composed just for him.
I think Zero Zero Seven, (by Prince of Darkness) would make all the difference in the list that already is. Nothing too great about the band but I must assert that the arrangement is a remarkable masterpiece.

Bond- a quartet of sexy ladies that play string instruments- not extremely well-known, but they did an excellent version of the James Bond Theme a few years ago called "Bond on Bond". I'd say that virtually half of their oeuvre would be excellent Bond music- they could even do an entire score...-{
