His Watch, Identification Disc (Derval Items)

Here is a picture of my newly obtained vintage Breitling 806 Navitimer. It is from the mid 60's and sports the highly sought after AOPA (Airplane Owners & Pilots Association) dial (winged logo at top). The three registers have aged to a nice golden patina. It was owned by one other person and is in pristine condition considering it's age. I hope you like it. I know the stiching on the band should be black, but I just got it today. Now all I need is an accurate gamma gas cylynder.

    Beautiful watch. Wow.

Hey, it looks like a good watch, and have you ever considered framing it? Mayybe to store it, so nothing can happen. BTW, is there any bargaining for Tatiana's compact, with iether you or thespyboys.com, because sixty for a compact is quite a lot. For that much, I could have bought another Savile Row dress shirts.

    Jones,

Yes it's a great watch. My wife thinks it's the most handsome watch out of all the watches I own. I do hesitate to wear it, and I will probably give it only limited wrist time. It will probably end up in some kind of display were I can rmove it from time to time. As for the compact, call Ed at The Spyboys. He is a reasonable fellow, but I have no influence on his prices. We merely share the same passion for spy related props. As for my compact, It's not for sale. I waited a long time for it.

Ooh, another interesting thread, but it looks like the image doesn't work anymore.

Hi Donald Grant, any chance of an update on the image of what sounds like a great watch. :)

Since the image in the first post is no longer available, I figured I'd add some more pictures of my Breitling Navitimer and related gear. I need to change the strap to a black with black stitch version to be SA (Screen Accurate), but it still is a sweet piece nevertheless. The picture and identification disc are courtesy of Ed M. Ed sent the picture not long ago as a new and improved replacement for his earlier version "on the arm" as they say. What a nice guy!

Did the Derval tag come from Ed as well? Looks a smidge different than mine.

Yep, the tag is from Ed, but from a long time ago.

I'd have to agree with you there. The Breitling 806 Navitimer is one of my favorites as well. Having seen it in Thunderball as a wee lad, I always wanted one. It just looked so damn cool and very much the buisness.
