Does anyone know of anyway to get a copy of or atleast hear the 1950 Moonraker radio story by Bob Holness.
As it was only broadcast in South Africa, i assume it was not recorded or anything.

Unfortunately no, and I'm always surprised why nobody thought of producing more similar radio plays. The only other radio play I know of is a version You Only Live Twice and that one was just superb.

Obviously a typo, it was broadcast in the mid to late 50s if memory serves me correctly.

I've read up on the subject a little and 1956 is the date shown for the radio programme.

I've also learned about the British gameshow - Blockbusters. It reminds me of Wheel Of Fortune except shaped like a hexagon.

The host was Bob Holness. Interesting.

I'd love to hear that version- the excellent Michael Jayston played Bond in that if I remember rightly. Was it ever made available? Might be worth keeping an eye on BBC7- they often repeat good old stuff like their The Saint adaptations and some great old Holmes and sci-fi stories.

Since this deals with rarities, here's an interesting titdbit from the super information highway that I wasn't aware of.

La Resurrection du Dragon, 1978. Starring: Alexander Grant. An unofficial, French-made Bond movie.

The Green Jade Mahjongg, 1980's. Bond actor unknown. A very obscure, Asian-made Bond movie. Incidentally, the actor playing Bond was American.

wonder if theyre more or less faithfull to the source material than (Roger Moore's) Moonraker?
maybe theyre missions so top secret the englishspeaking world cant be made aware of them

reminds me of the pirated Harry Potter books published in China when J K Rowling took 2 years between book 4 and book 5
supposedly the ghostwriter kept calling Dumbledore Gandalf
