I actually came back from the Wal-Mart down the road from my home, where 2 grown men were arguing over the only 360 behind glass in the games section.
40 minutes later,as my business was done, upon leaving, neither one had relented. I mean security got involved. One man had his son with him and I felt bad for the kid. How embarrassing that might be for him to see his dad act like that.
I want one badly but I'm not willing to compromise in that manner...
I remember something similar when I first bought a GameBoy Color. It was a week before Christmas, and all the stores were completely sold out of them (as they were with everything else). After driving to every Wal-Mart in the city, I finally found one forty miles away that had only one left in the glass case... It was in teal, just the color I wanted.
Even though no one was arguing over it, I did stake my claim to it and stand by that case until the guy came to get it out...
But about the two arguing over the XBox 360, I'd like to see someone just go get the clerk and take it out of the case while they were still arguing... )

Y'know, Sly, I'm a big kid when it comes to the gaming genre hands down. But I thought those two handled the situation quite childishly. That's just too much to compromise for me. Microsoft hasn't cancelled production forever so I'll catch the next train coming... Not turn it into a WWE event.
9 times out of 10 I'll bet that neither walked away with that 360 and the cops were probably called in to haul them all away...

Yesterday I took a look at the Wii press conference on line... and I was shocked...I might just buy a Wii if it is reasonably priced....
Nintendo, IMO, knows exactly what it's doing. They know that they don't have a chance of competing with the BIG TWO head on; so they stay within their limits and enhance on what's kept them afloat this far.
I'm almost sure to update my son's Gamecube to one of these consoles and play on it myself from time to tme.

I'm telling ya- Nintendo did an INCREDIBLE job at E3. They changed EVERYONE'S minds, and, where at Sony and Msoft people were talking about graphical prowess, nobody even cared when looking at the Wii, and that is what Nintendo did right.

So you're going to "Wii-it" too at some point, Night?

Agreed, I swore never to buy a Wii, but that looks like the system of choice for me. That Red steel game looks very cool, and even thie ping-pong games look fun.

If the Wii is ever at a $150 price point, I'll pick it up, definitely.
Just as an FYI, more and more videogame sites continue to speculate that the Wii will retail for $250 when it debuts.

I think Adam Sessler thought it was going to be $150. But seriously, I don't believe anyone until it is official- everyone guessed the PS3 would be 400-500.

Upon reading an article a while back in Game Informer, I had speculated the Revolution/Wii, whatever it's called to cost a couple of bills at the most...
But I've been wrong before...

Well, even then I might go for one. However, I would prefer a $200 system instead. Supposedly Call of Duty 3 is going to beon the Wii, and I certainly hope the next Bond game is on wii as well.

Nintendo just said that the Wii be definitely not be more than $250. They didn't give a specific price, however.
Also, is everyone excited for the XBOX 360 Spring Guide update? I am! I'm most excited about the music integration and the background downloading. YAY! There is an article about it on teamxbox.com if you're interested ion the specifics.

I still think the Wii will debut for $250; the Nintendo fanboys will buy it at any price so why not start it there (it's still the least expensive of the big 3) and then drop the price in the spring after all the early adopters have gotten theirs. I'm still sitting on the fence about Wii but I've read that Lucasarts is developing a Star Wars game where you use the Wiimote as a lightsaber. Now that does sound intriguing to me.
As for the dashboard update, background downloading should have been implemented a long time ago since it typically isn't a CPU intensive operation. I'm looking forward to it; it will definitely make the Marketplace a more popular area as people will start downloading stuff they normally would overlook.
I've also read that MS is still working on making more games backwardly compatible. There hasn't been a BC update since March so hopefully we'll get something soon. Personally, I'd love to see the Doom games and EON upscaled to hi-def resolutions.
EDIT: Here's a link to some pics of the new 360 dashboard functionality in action. Looks like we're getting additional functionality with video playback and the ability to always boot to the dashboard.

With new background downloading, I just wish I had more drive space. I have at most 7GB's left. I may just get rid of all the demos I don't need, that would clear up a lot of space.

There was an interview with MS exec Shane Kim on IGN and this very topic (among others) was brought up. Based on his response, I'm 100% certain that Microsoft will be releasing larger hard drives for the 360 in the near future. Have a read, there's a lot of interesting stuff mentioned...
Wow, I just realized- PS3 is launching the SAME DAY as Casino Royale. ) Oh, Sony...

I just found out that HELLBOY will be gracing the 360 this year as well. Not the regular console.
As if I need more incentive... 8-)

Oooh, that game looks really pretty. I know absolutely nothing about Hellboy, but I'm willing to give a good game a try, as the character is very cool-looking.
We all do. I wish I had enough money for an Xbox 360 or a Wii... 8-) Birthday is oging to come and go without one, but I can live with out it. Help my social life a bit, not that it is bad...
