Just got GRAW through the post. Really don't think this is my sort of game. My memory is terrible and there is so many things to remember. Need to put some time into learning it but man I am also impatient. Played some more Quake 4. I like it, it's an wasy game to play. But I have to admit i'm still entralled with dead rising. I can't stop playing it, even though I have had to restart several times due to poor save choices, whihc is pretty frustrating. I am going to have to be strict and just do one game at a time, rather than jumping from one to another.

GRAW is one of those games that you have to devote your full attention to; if you jump back and forth between it and other games, the control scheme never sinks in and it can become frustrating. Once you get into it, it is a lot of fun; the trick is, as you say, to be disciplined and do one game at a time. If you're really frustrated I can point you to some cheat codes to make things a little (or a lot) easier.
As for Quake IV, I'm a longtime Id fanboy and have bought all their games at one time or another. I enjoyed the 360 Quake IV quite a bit as well and still have the game in my library.

The only strange part of GRAW, to me, was the aiming. The reticle doesn't say centered, which makes judging things difficult until you get used to it. But when you do, you love it. I did, anyway.

I've had a nasty virus for a few days and maybe my fever is making me hallucinate, but as I recall, there's a red outline that surrounds any enemies (assuming you use your drone to scout the area). That makes targeting and taking out the tangos much easier in most of the levels.

Yes, Tony, that is a feature of your Crosscom, your futuristic HUD interface. It outlines your enemies in red. I was referring to the actual aiming, where, unlike most games, when you move the analog stick, the reticle stays centered and the camera moves, but in this game, the reticle moves around the screen, and the camera doesn't move as much. It actually seems like something a Wii game would do.
I never even noticed that until you just mentioned it; now that I'm aware of it, I probably won't be able to hit a tank with an RPG.
I am enjoying the game though. The control scheme is very deep but once you get a handle on it, it really opens the game up.
I still haven't tried the GRAW2 demo; I've got two more levels to go on GRAW1; I gonna try to finish it tonight.

I only beat the single player recently. I got stuck on the rooftop level. I stopped playing the single player until a few months later I picked it up and beat it.
As for GRAW 2, download it. It is pretty cool, although tooooo easy now that I've played it again. I was having fun charging in with just a pistol, and I did pretty well.
And the mortars are easy to get away from if you don't stand still. Plus the explosions are INCREDIBLE.
I finally got a chance to download and try out the GRAW 2 demo. All I can say is WOW! I thought the graphics in the first game were amazing, but they're even more photo-realistic in this installment. I also like the MULE and improved controls for the UAV. Looks like another purchase on the horizon; now I just need to finish GRAW 1; hopefully this weekend.
NightshooterIn bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
I found the MULE useless, other than to bring me the ridiculously overpowered sniper, the AS50. Controlling it was useless. Next time I play the demo I'll see if I can run over baddies in it.
The added abilities to the UAV were much needed though.
What was your favorite weapon in the demo, Tony? I loved the M4/MP5 combo you can do at the end of the demo, I imagine I'll be using that in the retail version.
I only played it for about 15 minutes (downloaded an episode of Babylon 5 from the Marketplace) so I haven't seen everything yet. I did like the way the UAV would "tag" all the enemies as you flew over the area though. I don't want to play it too much so as to keep the actual game as fresh as possible when I do get it.

When is the game supposed to ship? Has it been announced? Soon, I think. Can't wait.

I'm replaying SCDA just cause I love it so and I don't suck as much as the first time. I played it the first time on easy, now I'm playing it on normal, and I'm not accepting alerts. I hate alerts. Although on the supertanker mission, it is ridiculous how easily you can get spotted. You're in the middle of a BLIZZARD! HOW CAN EVERYONE SEE SO CLEARLY IN A BLIZZARD??
I will save Enrica this time.
PGR3 I am now racing at the hard level, purchasing a new car helped. Drivinga Ferrari GTR.
Halo 2, have almost beaten the game, didn't like switching to the "bad side". But, really enjoying the game. Looking forward to Halo 3.
Probably would now be comfortable playing online. Downloaded the maps (I think), might go online and give it a go.

Let me know sometime if you want to play, Barry.
I beat all levels of PGR3 on Silver medals, and stopped there. Gold can just sometimes be too hard. Great game.
As for Halo 2, Barry, what did you think of it as opposed to Halo 1? And if you haven't played Halo 1, GO OUT AND BUY IT because it is 100x better, IMO.
How frustrating can Dead rising be? Boosted myself 7 levels this morning then we had a power cut and I lost it all. I'm thinking of investing in a emergency power pack for me 360. Would that be sad?
I have PGR3 and GoW as well, though I'm rarely online - I'll send some friend requests tonight.
Anyhow, I finally finished the GRAW single player campaign and am looking for something new to try. I noticed that King Kong is down to $20 in the states; might be worth a look at that price.
I got King Kong coming in the post next couple of days. I'll let you know what it's like.
Rented Superman Returns last night. It's fun for about half hour then it gets very repetitive. It's also very easy. 80% completion in 4 hours.

Beat SCDA for the second time, this time on Normal. I got a lot of the achievements I missed the first time, such as human light bulb and agent of the month. Awesome game. This time I saved Enrica. However, to get agent of the month, I had to scan her retina. In order to do this, I had to know her out, so I pressed left trigger. And Fisher KNIFED her. So I thought it was a glitch, and I kept reloading, but I couldn't just knock her out, I had to kill her. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be. After all, she was still a terrorist.
On PGR 3, I ma now rated an "8" anybody knows what that means. Also I noticed after each race I have some sort of standing in a league. A few days ago I was 1st, today I was 880. What is that telling me. I am racing at the hard level and winning, time for hardcore. Took me about 100 races before I noticed taking the curves a little slower is a good thing.

There are 10 ranks, lower is better. So you are rank eight.
Also, whenever you beat a race and are connected to XBL, it scores your time against everyone elses. However, when it tells you that you are rank 1, check which league you are in. Each league has 1000 people in it, and I believe the leagues are sequential. Meaning, if you are 880 in league 2, you have the 1,880th best time.
That is, I THINK that is how it works.

Just ordered Rainbow Six Vegas and Crackdown online. Will give impressions once they arrive.
Edit: also will try to get myself into the Halo 3 beta when Crackdown comes.

Also ordered Gears of War on eBay for $42 shipped.
I just broke down and bought all the games I had been wanting.

Received this few days ago. It's a pretty weirdly made game. It becomes very repetitive. The times when your kong the camera angles are ridiculous and it pretty much plays him for you. This is definitely a game people only buy for the achievements (I can't even be bothered to complete it, even though it's pretty easy. Only worth it as a rental or very cheap imo. All ebay purchases are rentals really anyway.
