Im about to be hit by a tidal wave of new games...my friend is buying a new comp. This comp comes with 20 games (ill get to them in a sec), but he's a little short on money. I offered to pay $80 for them and if he wins the eBay bid, they're mine!!!! ALL MINE!!!!! They include Half-Life 2/HL2: Episode 1, Fable, FEAR, Quaka 4, another copy of BF2 (ill give it to my bro for his birthday), Oblivion, and quite a few others....im psyched....hopefully he'll win the bid...as for the other 400 and some ot dollars ill have left over when my birthday rolls around..... B-)
FYI for Xbox 360 owners; there will be a FREE game available for download this Wednesday on the marketplace. It's a side-scrolling shooter called Aegis Wing. Here's more info:
I read today that Halo 3 will be in stores in Spetember. I thought they would it back until Novemeber for xmas sales. Think I will pick up the 69.99 version. Don't think I need the hlemet.
I guess I better get busy finishing Halo 1 and Halo 2.

Downloading the Halo 3 Beta as we speak... I'm excited, the videos looked very fun.
NightshooterIn bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
Just finished playing some Halo 3, and it is great. I really like it. There hasn't been a cheap kill yet. I wish the melee lunge was farther, though, it is harder to use than in Halo 2.
Ill tell you this, from the videos ive seen it looks very good.....the graphics look fantastic and the jumping looks nicer, plus those "man cannons" are cool.
NightshooterIn bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
The graphics aren't amazing, but honestly, it looks good enough, and the gameplay more than makes up for it. Besides, it is a beta.
Got a message today warning that Microsoft have found a way to detect hacked 360's. Obviously this is not allowed but if you have got one be warned.

Hey guys,
thought I'd let everyone know I'm still having a blast with Halo 3. Sure, there are some games that just aren't fun because you're getting owned, but whatever.
Playing with friends is especially fun. So all you on the fence, go buy or rent Crackdown and give the Halo 3 beta a try! SOOOOO much more fun than Halo 2, I'll tell you that.
Yea it was awesome, I killed alot of guys running back and forth between turning on the reactor and tossing a gernade into the ventilation chute. I had a little trouble driving the warthog out at the end, not an easy thing to steer. But, I had a blast.

I was playing Legendary difficulty Co-Op with a good buddy of mine, and we got to the Warthog run... once we got to the last stretch we had ten seconds left, we both ran like hell to the exit, and I died as we were running, but my bud got to the end with one second left... it was awesome.

On Rainbow 6: Vegas, I keep getting picked off by someone I can't see when I go to save a Williams and Smythe on a particular stage. It happens every time I'm going through that lab. Now I know that I don't have the time to play regularly like I wish but are there other threats that I should be aware of as I go through this phase? It happens to me always as I enter that lab; I can never see him quickly enough and then bang I'm dead. How many guys are in there?
Of course I should discipline myself to take cover more. ;%

I don't remember that part, but you should always be behind cover. If you're going into a new area, just hold down the left trigger. Actually, you should never let go of the left trigger.

It's the Nevada Dam part- The Doctors. This stage gets frustrating to me. Thanks anyway.

I might not be up to that part. Is it the part where you are protecting a guy and have to go through this lower section down a flight of stairs (outside)?

I know you need the Snake-cam before you swing that door open. It's actually the room left of that hallway... They kill you fast in this room despite only seeing two guys.
I'll get the hang of it soon...I hope.

I don't remember the specifics of that level but I do remember a lot of enemies placed at really insidious locations. The trick for me was to go slowly and deploy my squadmates ahead of me to recon and attack.

Just beat Rainbow Six Vegas, and as it turns out, RA was slightly farther than I was. I assume you're talking about the part where the two doctors are in the next room, with multiple guys guarding them.
Here's how to do it: send in your guys from the double door, but first go around to the other door on the left and enter that way. You can even shoot from the room you're in, there are windows to do it.
BTW, it gets harder when you have to later protect your hacker and you don't have a good position. What you have to do is run to the right and get behind a crate.
Trial and error my friend.
The ending of the game is REALLY lame. Worse than Halo 3 - MUCH.

Tried Aegis Wing - I think it sucks. Boring and just like VERY OTHER BORING 2D SIDE SCROLLING JET SHOOTER GAME FROM THE 80'S.

I played it briefly and didn't find anything particularly fun or memorable about it, other than perhaps the scrolling backgrounds, which were very detailed. Still, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for Night, and seeing as this game is free, I guess it's worth every penny.
BTW, did you try the DIRT demo? The control is a little loose and takes a bit of getting used to (typical for these offroad racing games) but the visuals are really nice and once you get the hang of the controls it is fun.
BTW#2, Forza 2 debuted today; my brother loved the demo so I'll probably pick it up this weekend.

I did try the DIRT demo, and the graphics were great, but I didn't like the handling nearly as much as I did in Forza 2 (which let me down graphics wise)
I ALSO played the Viva Pinata demo and it is a really cute, fun, clever game. I might pick it up at some point, it is a lot of fun and I can see how it could appeal to a whole bunch of people.

DIRT definitely plays loose but once you get the hang of it the game is fun. The dirt track with the dune buggies was giving me fits but after half an hour I started to get the hang of it.
As for Forza, I think you can blame your disappointment on the track in the demo. It was a simple road course without any real landmarks. The actual game will be a mix of road courses and street races that take place in real cities like New York. The game does have a lot of nice graphical touches though. Next time you view a replay, check out the glowing brake rotors on your tires whenever you hit the brakes.

I may try it at some point but lately downloading demos from Live has been a real chore as everything takes FOREVER. DIRT took about 8 hours in total. Have you been having issues with download speeds? I've heard others complaining about it as well lately.
NightshooterIn bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
I find that strange, my downloads have actually been getting much faster. I think it probably depends on how many people are trying to download the demo when you are, that probably slows things down.
I did notice the glowing brake calipers, that was pretty cool!

You may be right, I'll have to try do DL something a little less recent tonight and see if it comes down quicker.
BTW, IGN posted its review of Forza. In a nutshell, tons of cars and customization options but disappointing visuals. Here's the link:

Also, issuing an APB for RogueAgent. Hey Rogue, did you ever finish Condemned? I ask because Condemned 2 is in development and on its way:
