I thought I'd share a few things that I'd done over the last couple of weeks. Let me know what you think:

This was a pinup I did last winter to strengthen my portfolio. My good buddy in Jersey inked it and I think that he did a fine job. It's apparent by now that I have a Batman bias...I'm sure LyleDark can appreciate that... :D

For those who loved (clears throat) that new Superman movie:

Here's a page from a story I did when I worked with Speakeasy Comics:

Here's the cover of my comic's first issue that I painted. The look is based on my childhood friend's dad Mr. Mussina back in New York. What a great guy...

These two pics were done by my 8 year old son Mac.

I guess the kid is mine or my wife was seeing another artist... :D

Hope you enjoy these.

Thanks, Dan. I'm trying to work them into my hectic schedule. But they're coming. Don't beat me up yet. :))

Here's one I did for my inker's birthday as he requested. He has a huge Mary Jane fetish. Personally I prefer Gwen Stacy but...

    Nice stuff Rogue. I especially like that Batman piece; very reminiscent of the covers from the mid 1970's. And as for your son, it's obvious the apple has not fallen far from the tree. -{

    Thank's guys.

Yes, Tony. I wanted to sort of pay homage to what I considered was the best time for DC Comics. I'm getting it digitally colored by a friend as soon as he can get to it and bring it out more.

This page was something I was flirting with as a different Batman style and I'm having these digitally hued to make it more graphic looking.

Eventually most pages I'll do for assignments will be painted or with some other medium to incite more realism...

Y'know the funny thing about Scarecrow is his popularity is almost B-rated regardless of shining in Batman Begins.

When I went back home in March to visit family, I carried my son to the Times Square Toys R Us store. They had a line of Batman action figures based on the HUSH story arc. I saw people grabbing every character except Scarecrow. The manager told me he had to mark them down to 2 bucks...still we saw no one grab one. He said that he couldn't give them away for some reason. I found that very odd.

I even offered to buy my kid one and he grabs an Iron Fist instead. Is this a nationwide epidemic? :))

Great stuff, Rogue -- from both you and your son! My favorite is the Superman. With that comma of black hair, all you need to do is soften the jawline and add a scar, and you've got a certain British spy.

My daughter shows an interest in comic book-art, but unlike Max she has no parental genes to, ahem, draw on, so she's on her own.
    Hilly...you old devil!

Ironic, because the Scarecrow is one of my favorite Batman villains. I love the whole fear angle and his costume can be scary if done right.

Did you ever read the first Batman / Judge Dredd crossover? The villains were Scarecrow and Judge Death. At one point, Scarecrow hits Death with his fear toxin and muses what would frighten Death itself. Cut to a full page spread of Death surrounded by little rabbits and other cute furry critters as Death cringes in horror. :))

    Thank again, guys.

Hilly, by all means encourage your daughter to keep it up. Females, who love to draw comics in particular, are a swelling fad within the community. Besides, I think that it is sooo cool.

I teach 2 college girls in my class and they're better than the males are. As a matter of fact they make the guys take their game up a notch or two...The fragile, inferior male ego I guess... :))

Buy her comics to read and have her find a couple comic artists that she can get into and and follow. From this she can develop her own signature look. Tell her don't quit!

C'mon, darenhat...get back into the swing of it. No comics for months?

    I congratulate you. Sincerely. I'm a fan.

Oh, Loeff, you never know. Eon might have to call on you to dress up the party before Craig steps down. W & P certainly aren't flooring me with their drivel... You're a screenwriter, right? I may need you to look over a comic script or two for me and do the Haggis thing with them.
    I congratulate you. Sincerely. I'm a fan.

Thank you both for the comps, MBE & Spec. If nothing else you've boosted my son's confidence in perhaps pursuing this further. With a little determination and heart from him, his talent might be outright frightening when he reaches adulthood.

Although he has to drive his own way in life, I've sort of got my hands on the steering wheel. :))

He wasn't quite satisfied with this one. I like the fact that he's looking to outdo himself and not just settling on a drawing.
