I'm still roughing out those match-ups, Tony. I promise not to be too bias.

Here's a sketch that I did during downtime. Really not too pleased with the Kool-Aid drinker's cinematic version so I tried to stay faithful to Eisner somewhat. My buddy inked this for me the other day...

I free-handed the lettering; sometimes I miss the old school way of doing this. Computers do the dirty work nowadays.

I'll probably get this colored one of these days.

Also, it's official; I now have something published by Image Comics.

TALES OF THE STARLIGHT DRIVE-IN

Everytime I spoke with creator Mike San Giacomo on the phone, I wouldn't believe him but once he mailed me a couple of copies, that were physically in my hands, my doubts were put to rest somewhat.

)

I did a couple of short stories in this along with other talents but the real credit goes to the creator being stubborn enough not to give up on it. BTW, this graphic novel comes out in June. B-)

Very nice Spirit Rogue, and congratulations on making it into Image - I sincerely hope it's the first of many many more high profile gigs. I'll be sure to pick up that book and contribute to the sales when it comes out.

As to the DC vs. Marvel pinups, feel free to be as biased as you like. :v

Thanks, man. Being that these stories were done about two years ago, they don't really represent me at this juncture of ability but it's good finally getting into one of the Big Three.

I did it so I usually try and move on...my aspirations are running higher now...I'm aiming for...The Bat. B-)

Here's a radio interview that creator Mike San Giacomo did for 90.3 WCPN in Cleveland where he lives. He's promoting his creation Tales Of The Starlight Drive-In for Image.

Mike's a really cool guy that I had the pleasure of meeting in Philly at a con we were both signing at and he gives me a plug within the duration of this particular interview on my stories in this graphic novel so I am deeply grateful for that.

Perhaps now I can attract at least ONE female groupie at one of my future shows as opposed to the chickless guys I often get hanging around my tables.

Wow, Rogue Agent, wow!
That is really terrific work.
Congratulations on getting into Image too. Well deserved!
This is my attempt at artwork, of course my publishing limit is a local Doctor Who Fan Club newsletter, not that I'm complaining, but compared to Image Comics, it's well off!

Love your Doctor Who strip, man! Although I prefer Billie Piper more as the sidekick.

I really like your take on Denny Colt,too.I think Eisner would approve(I also think he'd be disappointed in Miller's decision to give his classic creation an all-black suit and shirt and mask.After all,The Spirit's not Midnight or The Spider or The Shadow or The Phantom Detective...).

Means alot that you guys like what I am trying to do.
As for the groupies, seriously some of you would be surprised just how some of these big time artists have some of the hottest looking women around their tables at conventions like they were football stars or something.

What's even more surprising to me is that hot women love to read comic books. I didn't see that one coming at first.

Me, I'm just grateful to have any fan hang around my booth because they like what I've done artistically.

Here's something I sketched while dealing with a touch of insomnia the other night. I got these special pencils for Father's Day so I decided to try them out. They're okay I guess; I have to get used to them...

His expression is probably a reflection of how I looked drawing it.

) I had insomnia bad that night (up until 3 a.m.) so perhaps that's the mood I translated to this.

And the pencils that I used for this felt sort of foreign to me because of the lead. I'll get used to them.

Sure I could probably whip up something of a Heath Joker; I don't think that it would be in good taste to put the man in a gag like the one above though knowing what we all know.
