Does the US only know Ian McShane from Deadwood btw???
'Lovejoy' was seen on cable channels in the U.S. (my wife was a huge fan of that show); plus a few film roles...but I'd imagine he's best known in the States as Swearingen on Deadwood. A fine actor---but perhaps a bit too rough for M.

Tom Wilkenson, Terrance Stamp and Ian MacShane would all make good M's, but Judi Densh was brilliant in CR. She is the perfect counterpart to Craig's maskuline, instinctive field operative. A very maskuline actor like Ian McShane would fit better with a Roger Moore-like Bond. If Craig just makes just three Bond films (he is such a good actor he doesn't want to become stagnant in the role. He also gets lost of other offers), they could do this for Bond 24. An older Ian McShane next to 007 played by Henry Cavill in his late 20's/early 30's could work very well!
If they do not go with a Fleming story for Bond 22, a group of us on another film forum were tossing around the idea of a stroy kicked off by M being assassinated. It would continue the "shock to the system" that was CR, and would pave the way for a new kind of M.
For M, I want to see a tough-as-nails old man who could have very well been in Bond's shoes 30 years ago. It would provide a bit of a new dynamic - a boss who knows exactly what sort of missions he's sending Bond on, because he's been there and done that. My picks? Terence Stamp or Ian McShane.
Terence Stamp would be good as well; an interesting variation.
The idea of M being assassinated is interesting. In the novels, M's predecessor was shot dead, at some point in the indeterminate past (referenced in TMWTGG)...so it's not without supporting source material B-)

Thanks for that, I did wonder whether or not any other part of the world had been subjected to Lovejoy - not my cup of tea at all. I think Deadwood is only shown on satellite here at the moment (and although we have it it's not something I would choose to watch) so he's still Lovejoy to us
I think the discussion as to Judi's sucessor is an interesting one, I'd just like someone with better teeth in the role. Although it might sound sad I can't take my eyes off them when she is speaking
How about Michael Gambon? Gambon and Craig do seem to have that M/Bond chemistry in Layer Cake IMO. Although I don't really dislike Judi. However, I would like to see a male M again as many of us seem to.

Can you tell me where you saw these posters? I'd love to see them. I really hope they are going to run with the title 'Property of a Lady.'
I'm sure the posters were simply fan art with the titles...since there isn't even a complete script yet, the producers wouldn't be dishing out movie poster art yet, let alone with a title.

I think it's time we start a thread dedicated to suggesting titles and/or plots for Bond 22.
This thread has serwed this purpose so far, but the topic title is missleading.
Perhaps there should be one thread for titles, one for plots and one for locations, but a "catch all" topic would probably be better.

It would be a really neat title. It'd also be great for them to stick with Flemming's ideas.
the only reservation I have about Risico being used is how it would sound in the movie trailer announcer's voice. I've been trying to listen to it in my head, and every time I do, it sounds kind of absurd...but that's in my mind.
Also, how about an OFFICIAL version of 'Never Say Never Again'??
No thanks. NSNA was a remake of TB, which means you're essentially calling for yet another remake of TB. Surely one is enough.

"The Hildebrand Rarity" sounds like Austin Powers decided on a to remake a Wagner opera! I find it very unlikely that the name Hildebrand will ever be used in a Bond film. "Property of a Lady" and "Risico" are very good Bond titles. Risico is pronounced just like Risk is pronounced in the Scandinavian countries ("don't worry about north America, it will sell well in Scandinavia"), so i have no problems there!

I like the title Icebreaker, though I think the story would be too confusing to bring to the screen.
What about "Come to me, death". It's unusual, but still right for Bond I think, both implying a death wish (for someone) or a threath.
