Not much barrell length, but the butt is considerably shorter, which is where it counts in a concealment piece. Very comfortable to shoot, so much so than the excellent Glock 26. I just wish they'd get rid of the sight rails, ther is no need for those in a pistol designed fo deep hideaway.

    p99c-as-right-full.jpg

Apart from that it would be a cool looking gun, the width of the butt is so small, you wonder where the ten rounds go. Very light, and recoil is less obvious than the G26. I'm all for it. Even over this beautiful piece of workmanship:

I can't wait to get to the next page either, so I don't have to stare at every gun glamour shot. I think it was sniperUK who wanted to have me tell him a quick history of the Rangers. The Rangers go back as early as the French and Indian wars, being known held to only as 'well experienced scouts and soldiers' of the like. However, the rangers were first formed in WW2, in June of 1942, then were demobilized at the end of the war. Reformed in Korea, and then post Korea, they were again disbanded. In Vietnam, independent ranger companies were formed. They performed LRRP missions, that means LONG RANGE RECON PATROLS. Following Vietnam, the Army decided a standing Ranger force was needed and formed the 1st and 2nd Battalions on the east and west coasts respectively. 2nd was at Ft. Lewis Washington, and 1st was at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. BTW, you need to think more holistically on the service of the Navy Cross, because after seeing places that had extensive problems and worldly issues that really had nothing to do with me, they awarded this medal to me as a sort of 'going away' medal, and for several acts, and for outstanding service, it was given for participation a few private things in service, as more of a gift upon leaving the army, there goes a story and a lineage to it, more than just front and center, and present arms, although half of you wouldn't know what that means, you can study military history all you want, but there's no substitute for actually being there, unlike the toothless masses of extinct minds of this thread layering themselves in week old mayonnaise frolicking about the almighty power of the textbook and AskJeeves. AskJeeves won't tell you anything about the RIP, or anything about life as a soldier who is considered the best, in one of the best units, i.e, we Rangers know it as THE CREED, but you wouldn't know anything about that.

Also, I had no idea that my spelling bothered you all so much; I will make exercised use of the spell check option via copy paste. And Nightshooter, didn't you once post here on a thread that you were 14 years old and now you give away your in high school studying in what, the 9th grade? Come one kid, how are you going to tell me what to think, or what you think? It doesn't matter what you think, because the few people who you get off, trying to squeeze in a comment on would easily put you in your place if you were here in person. I guess that's why you people enjoy the Internet so much, because most Rangers would strangle someone and go to jail if that person told them they weren't what they d*mn near died for, a tab, beret, esprit de corps, and a fraternity, a Ranger can always tell another Ranger. Night, I'm old enough to be your father, tack on a few more years and I might be getting away with the 'old man' notion. I admit, the 7.65 .380 would be in the mistakes of all time issue, but I furthermore took it as a mistake, and I let the sleeping dogs lie until this bull went onforth. You vultures insisted on trying to pour salt into the wound, so I retaliated, and you b*stards wouldn’t friggin let it go, so I blasted you just like you deserved, and you can’t handle it. I furthermore think that this topic on guns is hilarious being that a 14 year old lab rat and a stiff a**ed Brit redcoat would actually have the gall to talk about firearms, Night shooter, you aren’t old enough to shoot a handgun, so wet dreams don’t count, and Brits are not allowed to own guns, if you’re a policeman, then great, but you probably carry one firearm for several years now and have never even used it except at the shooting range. I just think that’s hilarious, the closest most Brits come to firearms is stealing an American NRA magazine on a trip here and keep it tucked under their mattress hidden in a copy of Playboy or some other magazine, in which Night here wants us to contribute to a minor in sending him the new CR copy. I have no problem with Brits, in fact, it was a toss up between marrying a Brit or my current wife, so, that shows proof, or are you going to rank on that too? Do I need to give you a name and address, as well as a phone number and photograph for proof? I like Brits, but not on gun forums, I don’t like fourteen-year-old kids taking sides on something that does not involve them, because they are not even draft registered yet, because they are not the legal age for admittance into the armed forces. BTW, you all wanted to correct me, well Mr. “Chelsea boots are the man,” over here can’t afford them and if he could, he would grow out of them, and since when did we use personification to express admiration of footwear? BTPOM. Don’t you have some homework to do, why don’t you go and do it?

Since you all wanted to know about my Navy Cross, I'll tell you, one of my friends and a Senior officer who aspired to higher ranks than anyone of you pukes, that I met who served in the Navy heard of me getting my DD-214 and caught up with me before, he had been like a mentor to me after I joined, and he was in charge of me for some time upon a brief stint on an AC. The day that I was discharged, and ready to go back home, he met up with me, and told me I deserved some recognition of military service beyond what brass I had, and he took off his Navy Cross from his Service Dress Uniform and pinned it to my jacket, and saluted me. Since there is no 'official document' available, you cannot recognize it by due power of the President, but you can recognize it as a medal given to me by a superior for actions taken and exemplary service, so I normally don't admit that story about my Cross, because people such as yourselves would conjure up a certain visage that it "was not worth it's salt", however, I consider it an honour to wear. It was given to me by a superior officer, his personal one, and I feared he would be articled by an admiral for missing it, but he said he could get another one, and I haven't really seen him since, but I heard he retired a few years ago. But no, there is no paperwork, you won't find my name on a website, probably because you don't know my real name: "Jones" was a good name I picked from the film Dr. No, with the driver because I liked the character and I saw some facial similarities, although my hair is thinner than his, and shorter. I still have the Haircut, and BTW, since you all are so skilled in military history, what would be the motto of the RIP inductee, and I'll be first to say I was not ROP. Anyone know? Does anyone else think that the black beret being issued to service personnel nowadays is a travesty? The black beret used to belong to the Rangers, but now there's word of them using a tanned beret.

Oh, and what do you call this monstrosity, not tearing up a thread. And for those of you prepubesant Jack*sses that want to challenge me, you'd better think twice. And I can't remember who said they had 26 years of experience, but hey, congratulations, nobody else here really cares. I just can’t wait until someone busts out hat Ivy League does not matter, because they went to the University of Hard Knocks, right?

For those of you who aren't sucking your thumbs out there, I guess you bunch of hooligans think I'm somebody else, or stupidly trying to find the Rangers from WWII forward who have the last name Jones, well, good luck, and for those of you who are still wallering about in your incorrect reveling, it doesn't matter to me whether you choose to accept the fact that I am a higher trained soldier than you are if you even are a soldier (see the RANGER CREED), because I know that I served with pride and I won't say it was fearless, because we are all human, panic and fear is nature’s way of telling you to take care of yourself, and don’t stick your head out, even the best get scared at times, you'd be amazed how quickly you find God. We stand out amongst other soldiers for our discipline and courtesy to superiors and our conduction of ourselves, our equipment, and our brotherhood, RLTW. Sua Sponte!

But, try and keep these words in mind, we Rangers memorized these, because they were shoved at us from Day one to rest of the days, ending at fifty six, I believe was the count:

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and the high esprit de corps of the Ranger Regiment.

Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.

Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task, whatever it may be. Giving one-hundred-percent and then some....

Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress, and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.

Energetically, will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle, for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is NOT a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.

Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight onto the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.

Most of you won't understand this, and it would take you the terms of your natural lives, but I won't hold it against you, because you have to have been through RIP, and not eaten nor slept for two or three days until you find yourself being held up by your buddy, carrying you due to exhaustion, I bet you fat b*stards could not eat for three hours! You don't know this, but being a Ranger sets you apart from every other 11B or Marine or redcoat, the masses shoved together all alike, the Rangers are the deadliest, most feared men of the armed forces, hands down. I’d rather fight fifty hoodlums than two Rangers, because Rangers are taught the best hand-to-hand combat, and when applied, causes excessive pain, for instance, I can take any person, and make them dance with my thumb, learned that from Ranger school, we have been driven to limits and beyond them, we were broken in RIP and remodeled, more than remodeled, we were recreated, because RANGERS LEAD THE WAY! HOAH! I will no longer be a part of this immature sick representation on threads that show indicative relations to James Bond, and otherwise, I apologize to anyone whom stumbles on this and sees what an ignorant fool these people are. The people on the thread does not resemble James Bond in any way, and shows a complete lack of professionalism on all counts, even my mistake of the 7.65/.380, and for that confusion I do apologize, but I do not apologize to the morons whom post before and after me on this thread. I think they are absolutely ruining a thread used for opinionated purposes, and I have better things to do than to sit down and continue fighting dumb hordes of uselessness people trying to get tricky and act like jerks, their behavior is not warranted, called for or necessary, and I am leaving this forum because of it. If I were posting on this forum, I would completely ignore their posts, as they are negative in every form. And to those who attempt to compromise my character and my history that I have made, screw you, too!

    :))

Excuse my ignorance, but what are sight rails?

I'm surprised you'd choose it over an ASP. How would you choose to holster the P99C?

Sight rail or equipment rail, is the groove in front of the triggerguard, they are useful on full size autos, but a bit unnecessary on a sub-compact. I'd like to see how it performs from Ken Nulls UNS. Should be a good combo.

The P99c and ASP are both excellent pistols for the purpose, the ASP is overall slimmer and easier to conceal. The P99c is still a very fat handgun, but with the 10 rd mag, there has to be some compromise. I still think the ASP looks better, and the ASP 2000 better than that... shame it was designed by a stiff assed Brit that has never seen a handgun in his life 8-)

The Navy Cross is second only to the Medal of Honor,if what you say is true you have no entitlement to wear it, if you do sir you are a cnut of the first order who disrespects every serviceman awarded it .Rogers Rangers in the French and Indian Wars were part of the British army. The Rangers changed to the tan beret around three years ago,do you know why the colour was picked? its because the then OC of the Rangers had served a tour with 22SAS so the colour was picked to closely match their sand ones.Yes I know about the Ranger Induction Programme, the Rangers are an excellent military unit probably one of the best light infantry units in the world but there is something that was told to every American serviceman arriving in Europe,

1, Do not try to out drink a Brit
2, Do not try to gamble with a Brit
3, Do not try to fight with a Brit
4, Do not try to out think a Brit
    Because you will loose.

Oh and by the way where I live we can still own handguns at present I dont have any but I still have two rifles ,on mainland UK private hand guns are banned but most rifles and shotguns are not.As a police officer in Northern Ireland I carried handguns as stated before ,I also carried at various times the M1 Carbine,Sterling sub-machine gun,SLR,Ruger AC556,Hk MP5,HK 33 and G3 and FRG and HK baton guns both of which I have used in riots.Though I have been shot at many times thankfuly I never had to use a weapon in anger as we had the discipline not to fire unless we had a confirmed target.I hope you do dissappear preferably up you own ar****le as that where you belong.

By the way, since you insist on knocking my spelling, I'm here to tell you that you misspelled the word 'as*hole'. Just goes to show you that you are a working class, lower than average Brit who uses outdated rifles, (m1 Carbine, where are you Pointe Du Hoc!?) and I consider wearing my Navy Cross an honour, because it doesn't matter what you think, you go to work, do your 9 to 5 grind, and go get wasted every night with other commoners at a pub! Shows you culture, and we still rocked your A**es in he Revolution, you shouldn't call it the 1776 war, you should call it the 1776 slaughter, cause' your world was turned upside down.' No wonder the world hates Britain, because of dirtbags such as yourself. Most Brits I know from the Row are usually cold shouldered, and willing to take your money but you are simply a b*stard of an unenriched culture, why don't you shake down in a 7-11 for a day old wiener? I hope you rot of syphilis from sleeping around and I hope before you rot your foot is ran over by a semi, and thirty other cars, and jeeps, and a tractor trailer, and then kicked in the head, because I'll always make more money than you, we, the US as a nation makes more on average, and we are not afraid to flex a little muscle and put you and your nation in place, monetarily, culturally, and socially we have nothing in common, I trade stocks on Wall Street, you eat donuts, so, I'll keep up the thousand daily sit ups, guaranteeing my abs are better than yours, and you can get started on the syphilis, by the way, thanks for the Stamp Act, you wannabe military historian, you. I also have more decorations than you do, so don't rob yourself of trying to refute that because you don't know me, and quit playing with yourself, PeeWee.

The spelling was correct ******** I'M a stiff ARSED Brit remember, the war of 1776 that was a British Civil war one lot of Brits against another ,look where I am from ,the same place as Major General Ross who burnt the White House in the war of 1812,if you were not awarded the Navy Cross officially its not yours to wear .WALT .US military history ,slaughter your brothers in a civil war, turn up late for WW1 ,turn up late for WW2, fight to a standstill in Korea, lose Vietnam,**** up Eagle Claw,Grenada the less said the better,I have nothing against America but idiots like you show its worst face to the world.Oh and I used the M1 in the late 70s when a lot of US police departments were using them as well. When I get "wasted" as you put it it usually in the Warrant Officers and Sgts mess on RAF stations.

To the mods shut this down as this tw*t is getting out of hand.

Jones, I'm not taking sides on the issues at hand, I've no idea whether or not you've been in service, and hell if I care. I'm taking sides with the other guys because they've shown some common decency to you and friendliness to me. You've been nothing but a jackass who feels he needs to prove something to the world. If you really are such a great, honorable guy who did so much for his country, act like one, not like a petty git.

Oh, and congratulations on being able to beat up a 15 yr old (I'm a year older now). How impressive. 8-)

On another note, thanks for the info, ASP, I didn't know it was called a sight rail.
  • JonesJones Posts: 90MI6 Agent
First off, I don't need you cormpormising my honour or integrity, and secondly, I neve had any dsire to 'beat up a fifteen year old' I never had any intentions of that. I meant that most Ragners would beat up someone not towards you, but to the general public, as a viewing of tenacity. I don't uderstand, however, how you came up with the notion of my 'jackassery', because I simply attempted to be courteous to you in previous posts, and I think that you siding with these men would be worng, but you know what, who cares? I cannot believe I've wasted the past three days with this forum, I'm sorry to bother anyone, so please don't bother esponding to this, I'm sorry I ever saw this thread!

Vikings, yeah. That is what they sound like. And, you know, it is always honorable to be a Viking.

My folks had a tenant who trained CT units at West Point, he was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Thank goodness he wasn't a Ranger, or I may've been beaten daily.

I'd would just as soon apologize for any remarks or problems that I might have caused, it doesn't matter who blieves or did whatever, I am apologizing, and would like to continue the htread in it's nature of Walther choices, even though I won't be here, I am leaving this forum for ogod, and I sincerely apologize if I have insulted anyone, for this threadnor any was used for punching bags, andI'd rather us be fans of Jams Bond than be at each other's necks. THese past three days have been a disaster, and I want everyone to know that you'll never have to worry about it again, because I wore out my welcome by flashing my brass and standing a bit too tall, for this I hope you will understadn that. I want no inquiries made, and I would rather see a forum in which I used to love, but now feel jaded about, rest in peace, and without problem, I think this is my 200t post, I can't blieve I made it his far. I never meant to see this occur, and as now my feathers are soothed from their ruffled manner, I apologize for problems I have caused, but calling my something thatI wa not was very flabbergasting at that. I think I can tell when I have worn out my welcome, and today must be the day. Sua sponte! and goodbye.

It's clear no mods have been paying much attention to this thread - perhaps we were all naive in thinking this was just a discussion about what gun was the best Bond gun.

But the last few pages on this thread make me sick. This doesn't belong on AJB, and neither do the attitudes that came along with it.

On the peaceful ending above, consider it closed.
