This might only be of interest to obsessive Bond book collectors like me, but...
No Poster Art on U.S. Casino Royale Tie-In Novel
But there's still hope for a UK tie-in edition with poster art.

Any news of the cover for the hardback version, zencat ?
As far as I know, there's no hardback in the works.
And, as I said, there's still a chance we will see a movie poster cover in the UK.
Now that is a missed opportunity !
What chance of a large-print version now ?
A case in point is the MR novel, for which I don't recall any cover art using the film, which may have been reserved for the novelization. OHMSS used images of Lazenby, but perhaps because the movie was still within an acceptable margin of the novel's story and plot, pratically like a novelization.
Other coverart that used film images seemed more prevalent in foreign language editions, where there may be a greater need perceived to visually promote a Fleming novel with the more popular films, and where the concern of too close of an association is not as great as in the English language markets.
EDIT: I have just found this edition of CR on amazon.co.uk. It is still only available for pre order there. Has anybody else seen this book out and about?
that had the picture of Roger Moore in a spacesuit on the cover
I think every movie up til tSWLM had a moviecover, certainly The Man With The Golden Gun did, as that was the only one available when i started collecting: thaat was the era of the messy desk covers, and tMwtGG was the only one not available in that format - and that one of course had as little to do with the movie as did MR
Im not sure about LaLD, PAN published Roger Moores on-set diary and thats the closest I thing I can remember
theres a site somewhere with scans of almost every cover for every book, if I remember where it is Ill link to it later
I cannot remember a film tie-in for DAF either.
The last one they did was OHMSS from what I have seen of the old Pan books. The only others I recall are GF, FRWL and TB. Did they do one for YOLT??
its not quite complete but theres most of them
I wonder if I can get the images to draw in this post? (Im never sure if the HTML tag thingies are working)
IMAGES REMOVED. Sorry, CP, but those are official EON-owned images, and we can't post 'em here. People may use the link you provided, though. HB
I was wrong, there was a LaLD movie cover
(and a tMwtGG messy desk cover: Ive never seen that one in real life)
so I think it was tSWLM they stopped doing them for
gotta admit they looked pretty cool all lined up like that
Yes, they did. It's the pits that we have to do this, but it's the price we pay for being allowed to stay online. And I wonder why I still support this series. . .
Thanks for this. And it certainly puts to bed any theories about CR not being close enough to the novel to warrant a film tie-in cover.
TMWTGG and YOLT are absolutely nothing remotely like the novels. At least LALD and DAF attempted to have a few scenes from the books, yet all of them still had covers.
From the sounds of it, CR will be the closest tie-in to a Bond novel since OHMSS.
