Read carefully....it is not SD studio but a copy. A copy of a real bad model by SD studio. Later issue SD studio is a tad better. Be careful this is not a real SD studio.

    The listing clearly stated:

    SD DESIGNS INC
    'THE GOLDEN GUN'

This beautiful prop replica was created to the exact specifications of the original movie prop by Steve Dimzo the founder of SD Studios and replicated to his own exacting and incredibly high standards.

By the way there was a real SD studio gun sold on 9/30/2006 do a search on Ebay

I've re-read the description, and can see it might be ambiguous.

Didn't know you could search for items that have previously sold, so can't see the genuine SD Studios one - how do you do it??

I think you can do a simple advanced search on "golden gun" and checked on the "closed items" then sort by price (highest). You should find it then. By the way, did you see my recent posting on the Scaramanga's Pen?

Odd since the firm was S.D. Studios. I know Steve is no longer with Master Replicas ... is he back in business for himself? Wouldn't explain using the old pattern or why the seller is in California.

I have had many of these items through my hands and in my opinion this is a real SD studios. Its an early version with the improved long thread on the cufflink. It also has the SD box. I agree that the wording is unusual but if read correctly it states it is and SD Studios item. Its not mine so no beef here but why would anyone think this was a copy?

I think it's simply that the lister didn't flat-out state it's from S.D. Studios (nor cite the edition number which would seem reasonable) and, in fact, makes the odd reference to "S.D. Designs." I agree it's a genuine SDS but I also agree that it's a sloppy description.

Well, it went for $3850, so draw your own conclusions!!

All it take is two guys with a lot of passion. Anyway, a week ago the same gun (early SD studio edition) only go for about $1800, which is still considerable.
