Ok, so ive now got to find a nice big stubby screw cap fountain pen to modify to make the actual GG barrel.

Anyone come across anything similar on their travels?

try looking at axminster tool's website. axminster themselves can be a little high priced, and half the time they don't even know what they're trying to sell you, however they do an extensive range of 'make it yourself' pen kits, where you buy body 'blanks' that you can turn yourself, and fit the guts into.

so if you can't source a look-a-like pen, maybe just be easier to make the damn thing? only a simple turning job after all.

Cheers Geff, ive found quite a few websites off the back of your suggestion that sell pen kits. A great way to start I think.

Difficult trying to find anything that has 'screw caps' like scaramangas pen. everything seems to be 'push cap' these days.

this kinda reminds me of when i made marge's handle. after going down the road of planning, designing and formulating a plan to mod a real one, it became apparent that the easier and more effective way is, and always will be......

    scratch build

    Yeh, I agree.

Its 50/50 to be honest. If im out and about and see something that fits the bill with only minor mods, then why not, but failing that, its time to go looking for components to scratch build.

aye, not everything seen on screen may be as it seems in real life.

this is why, after over 10 years of flinging my parker at people and shouting "GET DOWN!!!", it has yet to explode.

Did you take him out of FAB 1 first? or is it the other type of Parker with a hood (bad bald dude on Thunderbirds?) mind you my eyes would light up if Danjaq installed one of them there furry self cleaning butt plugs in me **** receptacle hole!

My Internation Rescue radar is pinnging - Who mentioned Thunderbirds?! ;)

Out of curiosity, is there or was there ever a silver version of the pen? Or, is anyone doing a scratch build as Mini G reccomends, prepared to attempt one?
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

Easily done! Allow me to clarify.

There is no silver Parker. - Only a silver (Well, Pewter) Penelope! - http://www.fanderson.org.uk/news/robert_harrrop_pewter_penelope.html :D

I on the other hand, am asking about a silver version of the PEN.

Its in fairly good condition, but more importantly, I can get some proper dimensions from the cap clip etc.

Its a "Waterman Plaque-OR G" for anyone interested.

GEEZ..... ive had it a day!

I need to get my vernier calipers out and do a full measure and detail on it first pete.

do what I did and spend 6 weeks trying to find the impossible! LOL.

I have seen prices go very high on these, but they do change hands on pen collector websites.
