Found out by chance that Playboy (which, while they covered the last few Brosnan, films didn't give them the play of, say, TB or MR) are planning a big retrospective in conjunction with CR, recreating scenes from the earlier films, etc.

Up until recently, I've enjoyed reading Playboy, especially the Bond related issues. However it seems that unless the issue has something to do with 007, then I'll give it a miss.
The news of a 007 retrospective sounds very good though (and perhaps Hef might even be able to persuade Eva Green and Caterina Murino to do a photoshoot)!!!

I also used to pick up the Playboy Bond issues; haven't gotten one in years though as, sadly, the last few that I saw were poor and tired rehashes, regurgitating the same material over and over: same pictures from issue to issue and largely the same sophomoric text (yes, I did actually read it).
As for Green and Murino posing; well, Green has already done stuff that would make Hef blush. Murino however doesn't appear to have done any nudes which is a bit odd as nudity isn't at all taboo in Italy (in fact, it's practically a rite of passage for most celebs there).

And not just the publication we're talking about here, but also too many others, across the board.
It never ceases to amaze me how so many great, revealing photos (not just in the Playboy sense, but, for example, in terms of prop identification) make it no further than sites that sell stills. Or how many really insightful articles are lost in the dust corners of the Internet, in favor of same-old, same-old "stories" re-reported as fact.
Don't mean to hijack this thread for a rant....
I used to regularly buy movie tie-in magazines and books; but over the past 6 or 7 years my purchases in that area have dried up for the reasons I just mentioned. Compared to the wealth of info available on the net, most of these publications are just downright shallow.
Going back on topic, if Playboy does do a tie-in issue with CR, I hope they give us some good editorial info. An in-depth interview with Daniel Craig would be a good read. And of course, a few inspired pictorials wouldn't hurt either.
There is a two-page spread showing what might be the top of Bond's desk. Strewn across it are a variety of items meant to recall the various films. Some are iconographic (like Shirley Eaton) while some are moronic (Blofeld's monocle ... yup, you read that correctly).
Regardless, it's interesting to look at, especially for prop collectors. The Faberge egg included is the exact one under discussion in "Memorabilia & Collecting."
As noted elsewhere in this thread, publications are getting displaced by websites and the very purpose of this image appearing in the magazine seems to be to drive readers to the onlie version of Playboy.
Here's a link to that picture from Playboy (alas it's "G" rated); many of the objects are clickable and bring up a popup window with more information. Now you no longer have a legitimate excuse to buy that issue.

You probably have a Pop-Up Blocker in place.
The magazine contains ONLY the main photo; again, the point of this is to drive traffic to the website.
Somehow, I don't think Sir Miles had as much trouble with those links as he said he did. Still, I'm sure he has a pleothora of perfectly plausible and sensible reasons for wanting to pick up the issue. Right, Sir Miles?
