Maybe I am behind the times and motion posters are nothing new to you but this is a first for me. Click on the link below and scroll down the page to see it. The poster highlights Dredd's appearance at The San Diego Comic-Con which runs from 12th - 15th July.

Man of Steel is to be released in IMAX 3D. The film wasn't shot in either IMAX or 3D so it will be converted for both formats. The IMAX release of Man of Steel will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology.

It has been confirmed that the teaser trailer for Man of Steel will be shown in front of The Dark Knight Rises next week. The teaser has not yet been officially released online but a leaked version can be seen at the link below. The quality of the video is poor as it was shot quite far from the screen though the sound is good.

The teaser trailer for Man of Steel has now been officially released online. I believe there are two versions, one with a narration by Russell Crowe, and this one narrated by Kevin Costner.

Marvel has previewed a new deleted scene from it's forthcoming Blu-ray and DVD release of The Avengers (Assemble UK). The new scene follows on from the events of the films final act (setting up the rest of The Avengers as a flashback), showing downtown New York in a state of serious disrepair. The action then cuts to S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill, being interrogated by her superiors in the aftermath of the battle with the Chitauri.

Warner Bros have won an important legal victory over the heirs of one of the creators of Superman, giving it total commercial control of the superhero. An appeals panel unanimously ruled that Jerome Siegel's heirs must abide by a 2001 letter accepting Warner's offer for their 50% share of Superman. Though the five-page letter was never formalised into a contract, the appeals court said it was still binding.

I picked up the 3D BluRay to this a few days ago and got thru watching it last night. When you factor in the extremely low budget this movie was made under, I found it to be a very well made film which, based on what I know of the character, seemed to be quite faithful to the early Dredd comics.

Despite generally good reviews, the movie tanked here in the states, earning only $19 million, probably due to the "R" rating and relatively unknown cast (though I though Karl Urban made a great Dredd). I was surprised to see that it performed even worse overseas, earning only a combined $13 million. Too bad as the movie deserved better, I think.

I haven't seen it yet, but I didn't realize it did so poorly. I had heard people say it was a refreshing R-rated comic book film in the reviews, which were generally positive indeed. Hopefully people catch onto its home release at some point.

According to Latino Review, the final cinematic Justice League roster will consist of five core members Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and The Flash. There may be one or two cameos from the 2nd stringers. Apparently, they are still looking for a director for the film which could go mano a mano with The Avengers 2 in the summer of 2015.

Henry Cavill's Man of Steel features on the cover of the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly. The cover story reveals how the new film attempts to humanize the superhuman by finding new flaws and vulnerabilities. The most common one is off the table: "I'll be honest with you, there's no Kryptonite in the movie," says director Zack Snyder.

    http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/superhero-salaries--who-s-the-highest-paid-comic-book-actor-in-hollywood--153401093.html

Robert Downey Jr recently made the headlines by confirming that he made a whopping $50 million off the back of 'Avengers Assemble', thanks to a contract that saw him paid a percentage of the movie's $1.5bn box office total ("Isn't that crazy?", Downey Jr joked). That's 32 million pounds or 38 million euro.

Unbelievably though, RDJ's payday isn't the biggest received by an actor for a single superhero movie. We trawled through Hollywood's accounting receipts (using reported salaries) to find the top five highest-paid superhero movie actors – and once you adjust them for inflation, there are a few surprisingly flush heroes and villains out there.

My Top Ten: Batman Begins, The Avengers, The Dark Knight, Superman, X2, Spider-Man 2, Iron Man, Batman, Watchmen, and X-Men First Class.

Speaking of comic book movies, I'm predicting Iron Man 3 has the second biggest US domestic opening ever now, especially after its amazing international grosses rolled in this weekend.

ABC has released a trailer for its new TV drama series, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The series is based on Marvel Comics' secret intelligence organization that has appeared in countless titles, including Iron Man, Captain America and the Ultimates, since being introduced in the 1960's. Clark Gregg reprises his role from The Avengers as Agent Phil Coulson as he assembles a group of agents from the worldwide law enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together, they investigate the new, the strange and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.
