Yeah! I actually get quite bored by bond girls until Mayday shows up. I bought the bond movies series DVD so I kind of watch them all in once except the 1990s ones so seeing vase like girls one after another make me feel kind of sick. They are all stereotype except Mayday and Tracey. Although I like all 1990s bond girls.
My eccentric opinion: I like Grace Jones! Her sacrifice is very moving and probably the only thing I like about that movie!
Yes! Welcome to AJB! Too bad you don't like the rest of AVTAK, but it's good to see a May Day fan.
Yes welcome to the best Bond site on the net aquaflute. {[] Although I hate AVTAK, I do like May Day, so it's good to see that I'm not alone.

I don't want to lead you on but there is no chance that I'll identify the scene, at least not publicly. If you want to PM me, maybe I'll tell you, but the truth is I'm rather embarrassed. If you truly want to know, PM me, and I'll probably tell you the answer, but I think you'll be weirded out.

Oh dear, I suspect it involves a horse...
No. Why are people so curious? If you truly want to know, PM me. I'm not trying to lead anybody on. It's just that there certain things I don't think one should talk about publicly; politics, religion and one's favourite scene in AVTAK.

You can be a hardcore Bond fan and only own your favorite Bond films.
Die Another Day was shaping up to be the best Bond film ever
Roger Moore kept the character alive by sacrificing what made the series great (with a few notable exceptions. The juice was not worth the squeeze, and a more concerted effor should have been made to keep Lazenby.
Sean Connery would have been a better Bond in OHMSS if it was made before Thunderball. After which, Lazenby was a superior pick as Connery's performance was on the wane.
When you dislike a Bond movie, it can be an unbearable excercise to get through it. The series really contains a lot of classic films that I could watch again and again, but the ones I dislike (which are limited to three, really) I wouldn't put within a mile of my DVD player.
You can be a hardcore Bond fan and only own your favorite Bond films.
True. I think that one can be a hardcore Bond fan even if one does not own much memorabilia, hasn't read the novels and only owns 7 (soon to be 8) Bond films on DVD. (Which can be a little inconvenient as I'm in the process of watching the first 20 films prior to seeing CR, and I'm going to have borrow 13 films from Uni and the local video store. Ah well, the things I do for Bond. :007))

Roger Moore looked older in FYEO and OP than in AVTAK.
Does that mean you didn't have a problem with Bond being with Stacey Sutton in AVTAK?

Not really. It's not half as gruesome as the erotic fiction I tried to post on ajb one time, where a lechy, liver-spotted Bond has a change of heart and revisits the young and eager Bibi in her bathroom suite, forcing her to willingly submit to his bestial demands a la One Night in Cortina... sadly SiCo vetoed it, though Hardyboy put in a good word.
Melina Havelock has quite bad facial hair!
Look closely!!
And cross-eyes.
Yeah, she was weird-looking. I never found her attractive. Of course, Moore was heading into his "ick, he's too old for sex scenes" phase, so it really didn't matter.

Melina's beautiful IMO, and while there was a bit of facial hair, many Greek women are afflicted by this trait. Also, I found those eyes beautiful (see my YouTube compositions) and on the whole, Carole Bouquet was a very sexy lady.
-I think Rosamund Pike made a nice contribution to DAD (she's wonderful eye candy, too).
Sorry, pal, but that's the least eccentric view I've heard yet! Rosamund Pike is well-loved around here!
My most eccentric opinion comes in the form of;
I prefer the scores of George Martin, Marvin Hamlisch, Bill Conti, Michael Kamen and Eric Serra to a good number of the John Barry ones.
Yes I know! People don't appreciate Conti. Though I dislike Kamen's I prefer all of theme to many of the John Barry scores, as they all start to sound the same after awhile. OP is probably one of the most boring and general sounding scores ever, with no tracks that stand out.
NP, Craig is an ok Bond but seems uncomfortable and I also believe that Casino Royale isn't all it's played up to be. In fact, I almost hate it.
I prefer the scores of George Martin, Marvin Hamlisch, Bill Conti, Michael Kamen and Eric Serra to a good number of the John Barry ones.
To say that one prefers the scores of George Martin and Marvin Hamlisch to a good number of John Barry's is not really eccentric at all. Martin and Hamlisch's wonderful and memorable scores are the equal of all Barry's except YOLT & OHMSS, in my opinion.
As for Bill Conti, Michael Kamen and Eric Serra? Now you are talking eccentric. I find little in Conti's score that's even remotely soothing to my ears. I actually quite like Kamen's and Serra's scores, better than their reputation.
1)View to a Kill is one of the very best Bond films. That's the one that seems to be the strangest. I was quite shocked to see how so many people dislike it. It all started when I saw that TV Guide gave it 2 stars about fifteen years ago. Whatever, I feel like I can see what the blind can not. Fortunately for me, I don't really HATE any of the films. Guess I'm just lucky.
2) The 80's (John Glen's) were the best decade.
3) Never will care for the Tom Jones tune.
4) If I had to choose, which I don't but am doing anyway ?:), Connery is my 5th favorite Bond. That one is kinda interesting. When anyone talks about Bond in the media, they always crown Connery as the best without even thinking about it. I find that amongst hardcore Bond fans, many more crown another actor.
5) I don't think an American should ever be considered to play Bond. I think the actor should be from England.
6) I was never bothered by any of the voice dubbings. Well, maybe Lazenby's.
7) I think Quarrel's expression when he first lays eyes on Honey is one of the funniest things in the series.
8) Making Connery "look" Japanese was just silly.
9) Christmas Jones had a bad name and a worse "mining uniform".
10) Totally uncalled for Bond to call Tiffany Case a "stupid twit" when he did.
01. Clifton James should be brought back in Bond 22 as a retired Sherriff Pepper.
02. Now that we know from V for Vendetta that Natalie Portman can do a British accent, she should play Miss Moneypenny. Ok, maybe that is too eccentric.
03. Replace Judy Dench with either George or Tim.
04. GoldenEye is Pierce's worst 007 outing.
05. I am glad Jaws was given a girlfriend in Moonraker. It is a very funny joke, and Dolly is hot.
06. Let Spielberg direct a Bond movie.
07. The Bond series needs a double installment much like Back To the Future Parts 2 and 3 and Matrix 2 and 3.
08. Connery should do another unofficial film.
09. Bring back John Cleese for Bond 22
10. Hey, Moonraker is a good movie.
4) If I had to choose, which I don't but am doing anyway ?:), Connery is my 5th favorite Bond.
Who would be your top choice?
I think that's harder to answer than saying Connery is 5th. It's almost like whoever I saw last. I'll go with Roger Moore because he could make a movie better just by being in it. I don't know if the others could overcome a script like him.
There are two kinds of Bonds, Roger Moore and all the rest. I wouldn't want anyone to try to duplicate Moore. There is only one. In general, I prefer the stereotype that the other Bonds have established. But Moore has a pocket in time where his natural wit and sophistication added immeasurably to the series.
I also think Daniel Craig could one day be the best Bond ever. This will depend on the quality of his scripts but the fact that a statement like this can be made is really a testament to the achievement of Casino Royale. -{
1. Moonraker is the greatest Bond film of all
2. OHMSS is a close second
3. FYEO bores me to tears...
4. I agree with a previous poster entirely on
Dalton - dangerous but totally uncharismatic
5. Sean Bean - although an actor I generally
love to watch was terrible in GE
6. Each Brosnan film got progressively worse
(probably not that eccentric really...)
7. DAF is just dull
8. LALD could be excellently remade
9. Octopussy is racist. Sorry I'm far from PC
myself, but it rivals Indiana Jones & the
Temple of Doom for having at best a
patronising attitude to India/Indians
10. AVTAK is hilarious...
11. Steven Berkoff is terrible in OP
12. Drax is the best villian, by far
13. The first half of GF is far better than the
second half
14. TSWLM is the most overated Bond
15. As said before Judi Dench is miscast - and
don't get me started on Geoffrey Palmer in
TND - I was half expecting Richard Briers
to turn up as well.....
16. And I can't stand bloody Cracker or
whatever his name is
17. Maud Adams ? - sorry whats all that about?
18. Corinne Clery is the most beautiful Bond
girl ever - Rigg or Blackman - no
comparison.......
19. Much prefer the Lotuses (Lotii?) to the
Aston's
20. Oh and John Cleese...
21. THATS IT? - anyone, and I mean anyone who
appears in a BBC sitcom should be banned
FOREVER from Bond. Next it'll be Ricky
Gervais as the reincarnation of Blofeld
22. Talisa Soto is hottttttt....
23. What was Licence to Kill about?
24. I think every Bond film should involve a
rubber python like Moonraker
25. Why does Rog and Lois wear space helmets that
look like the're made of leather...
26. Caroline Munro was so stunning she made
Barbara Bach look quite plain - quite an
achievement itself - see the scene when she
pulls up at the hotel in the Speedboat
27. The Iceberg-sub in AVTAK is quite the
ridiculous thing ever in a Bond film...
28. Chris Walken is over-rated as a villain
very generic - I'm surprised his Zorin didn't
have a nervous eye twitch
29. Corinne's 'death by mutts' is the most
chilling sequence ever in a Bond
30. Moonraker is and always will be the greatest
Bond - a superb parody, worthy of Ionesco, on
the dangers of sub-letting to the private
sector

I've actually said I liked Connery on this site more than I actually do. I dislike his character in many performances actually, and I like Roger supremely better. He's also terribly overrated, Pierce and Roger outshine him for me in many ways.
Mr. Inferno, you say you really love AVTAK, this is good to hear. Which do you prefer, AVTAK or LTK and where on your favorite film list would they fall?

I think Vesper is the best Bond girl I've ever seen so far(I like Wei Lin best but I think Vesper is a deeper character)

By completely screwing up his career, Lazenby became the most interesting guy to play Bond.
Roger Moore would be given more respect if he had quit after ‘Moonraker.’
The little geek girl that Jaws falls in love with in MR, is seriously hot.
‘All Time High,’ is a really good song.
AVTAK deserves plaudits for launching the career of Dolph Lundgren.
Rupert Everett would have made a great James Bond.
Denise Richards is way more intelligent than Sophie Marceau.
