Dear readers,
i'm new here and this is my first post.
I'm Maurits Vink from Utrecht, The Netherlands.
For the film Casin Royal, there are used 2 formerly Utrecht buses. In the trailer, i can see one of the buses is hit by a van (http://stadsbus.de-zevensprong.net/bus_in_puin.mov).
My question is: does someone know what has happened with these buses after recordings? Do they still excist (If yes, where), are thery already scrapped? If somebody has photos, it would be great!

Welcome to AJB, Maurits. You'll find this is the best Bond site on the internet, and we're very glad to have you aboard.

Only one problem...we're not allowed to post Eon-copyrighted images (anything from the James Bond movies) directly on-line. You must provide a link instead. I'm sure a moderator will come along and let you know...

Sadly, I do not know the answer to your question for certain, but the sequence was filmed at an airport somewhere in England...

Once again, welcome to AJB. :007)

    Thats a very specific question!

I suggest you try to contact somebody at Sony, they're far more likely to know the answer than us fans {[]

May I ask why you'd like to know?

    And welcome aboard AJB!

It's very possible they were both destroyed during filming. It's likely that they took two takes to make sure they got what they wanted. For example, the scene involving Bond's DBS flipping and rolling used three cars - completely destroyed - for that one scene.

Although, it could well be that one was used for background shots. After all, this is supposed to be Miami International, I'm sure there's more than one bus milling around.

I did notice one very odd thing from that clip though, where on earth is that bus going??? It's headed for the grass! :))

    Haha! Good point! :D

I was there the day after (I think) they filmed that scene- at least all of the suitcases were still strewn across the runway. No idea what they would have done with the bus- perhaps it was junked?

According to the Casino Royale behind the scenes edition of Live: Night & Day (Mail on Sunday magazine), the scene with the tanker smashing through the bus took 30 takes with three tankers over a number of days. It describes one take where the axle snaps on a tanker and it's dragged off "to be repaired for Monday morning".

So more than likely both buses were used alternately to be ripped in two, patched up, and ripped in two again. They're probably both in a scrapyard somewhere in south east England now to be honest.
