The Bond theme during this scene has been criticized, as well as Eric Serra, but I find the synthesized theme pretty refreshing. I can't find the full version of this song on the Goldeneye soundtrack or any for that matter. Was it ever released?

The full version, no. Some elements are present in "The Goldeneye Overture".
It will not be released until the next bunch of Bond soundtrack expanded CDs x-(.
In the meantime, you may look at your private messages here
Oh taity, you never worried before, why start now? But yes, I believe it is very modern sounding and fits the film to a tee, as it's right after the Cold War, technology is now a huge part of society, specifically personal computers. Also, the music fits the whole Russia motif, so yes, it's a very good score.
Just ask and you will be served b-)
Let me give you a trail: it's hidden in the released but rejected track
But that's just A Pleasant Drive In St. Petersburg. Everybody who has the soundtrack heard it!
And I've got some other version of the film version of "A Pleasant Drive..." but I want the "official version" (the one by..that other guy) Was it ever released?
And what's with the really weird vocals in Serra's version?
If everyone heard it, then why are we being asked here for Serra's version of the James Bond theme? )
It has just been laying here, drowned under electronica tunes and unused in the film.
It was fun removing Serra's added beat cues to restore Monty Norman's hidden theme in a way that gives it kinda fresh air.
The film version was rescored by John Altman and rerecorded by Nic Raine on Bond Back In Action 2 Silva CD.
Cat, is the sequence where Bond is in the Archives anywhere present on the soundtrack? I don't think it is... and you're the expert!
There are two cues there. One of them is Run Shoot And Jump, the other one is already the beginning of 'Tank Drive Around St. Petersburg' by John Altman.
"A Pleasant Drive In St. Petersburg" (Norman arr. Serra)- on the GE soundtrack album (although not in the movie).
"Tank Drive Around St. Petersburg"( Norman arr. Altman)- a re-recording is on Bond Back In Action 2 and The James Bond Collection. The original as used in the movie has not been officially released.
